How come -- all other things being equal (source, degree of hunger, emotional state, etc.) -- chocolate cake sometimes tastes yummy and other times neutral-to-gross? Cleaning out the frig. this morning, I found a leftover piece of German Chocolate birthday cake. I basically ate it to save its life -- and now I am totally jonesing for more. The day of the party, I didn't even eat a whole piece cause it tasted too rich and kinda ho-hum... :confused3

Just one of those things I sometimes find myself pondering... :scratchin

It probably has to do with the amount of sugar your body needs at the time. Cravings are normally a natural response to things your body needs. Of course, fats and oils trick the body into wanting them, but with chocolate you're normally safe :thumbsup2
