Nathan: After spending the day together he drove Karen back home. Pulling into a parking space he looked at her and sighed "I really like you."

Karen: "you say it like its a bad thing."

Nathan: he looked down. "I cant be in a relationship with someone until I tell them everything about me. It wouldnt be fair to you."

Karen: She put her hand on his shoulder "Nathan, its okay."

Nathan: he nodded and took a deep breathe "okay, here we go. If you had met me before my parents were murdered you would never recognize me. I was extremely quiet, I didnt really have any friends. I was the one that people were always trying to get out of his shell. Well, after it happened, well, all of sudden everyone talked to me. They all pitied me and felt sorry for me, and, well, I started lashing out, making smart comments, someone would say 'its going to be okay' and Id say 'sure, why wouldnt it be? Its not like my parents were shot or anything.' Or theyd say 'Im sorry' and Id go 'oh, so you killed them.' I was completely wrong and I know that. I was a jerk to people who were trying to help. Eventually people stopped trying. Then, David and Jordan approached me, they were the first people not to pity me, and to talk about anything that didnt involve my parents. I lived with David for a few months before my aunt took me in, his parents got me into counseling. Well, anyway, Ive gotten better, at least, I think I have. But I still have moments, I forget people are trying to help. I get flashbacks sometimes, and I still go to counseling." He took another deep breathe "Im trying to get better. I am. So, Karen, now that you know my story, if you are willing to be patient with me, and understanding of me when I have my moments" He looked up at her and a smile crossed his lips "will you be my girlfriend?"

Karen: she listened to his story and hearing his question she smiled "yes! I will."

Nathan: He smiled happily and leaned over kissing her for the first time on the lips.
