Hi All,

I need your feedback...we currently havce Les Chefs de France booked at EPCOT for 8PM but are worried we will miss Illuminations which starts at 9PM. Should we be worried? Also, should we show up early for Chefs can we get seated earlier?

There is a restaurant which has 7PM reservations which is Restaurant Marrakesh. What are your thoughts on this one? I have read mixed reviews and I am afraid to step out on the limb and try it out. Should I be worried?

Thanks!

Even if you are seated on the dot of 8, you are probably cutting it too close.

We tried Marrakesh for the first time this year and I was very pleasantly surprised. DH's fish did not appeal to me but I really liked my Couscous. With all the cuisines of the world available to us in Epcot, it seems a shame not to go out on a limb and try more of them.

And as a back-up plan (which had been my private intention), if you don't eat well at dinner you can always swing by the bakery in France and use the lack of dinner as an excuse to blow a snack credit or two!

That's reslly tough. It could work if you eat fastly. Maybe if you get a window seat you can see from the restaurant.

I'd go for the 7pm Marrakesh ADR for two reasons:

1) The food and service at Chefs is awful The food was like it came from a frozen boxed dinner and our server just shrugged his shoulders and did nothing when we complained. Marrakesh was good, not great, but good. I had a much better experience there.
2) 8pm is cutting it way too close to get a decent spot for Illuminations, if you even got out of the restaurant in time.

I've never been to Chefs so I can't speak to their food, but I do think you will miss at least the start of Illumination with an 8pm ADR.

As for Marrakesh, you don't run the risk of missing Illuminations with that time, but unless you are adventurous and ethnic eaters, you may have a hard time finding something. A friend of mine was just there about two weeks ago with a group of 9. They had no ADRs and this was the only place that could accommodate them at a normal dinner hour - so I don't know what that says about the place. 2 of them said they liked it out of 9 and only 1 of the 2 said she liked it because of the atmosphere. My friend got the lamb, which he likes and orders frequently in our hometown, and he hated it.

DH and I have eaten at both... And neither of us liked Chefs! It was overpriced (if we hadn't been on the dining plan, wow - expensive!) and seemed to take forever. We do, however, love Marrakesh! It's always quite calm in there, many different yummy things to try - and I honestly think you could get out of there quicker, the service doesn't seem as slow. Enjoy wherever you choose :)!
