Tell me about this restaurant , I am not really excited to eat there , but my daughter has picked it as her pick this upcoming trip , not sure why :confused3
It gets so many bad reviews ......

please tell me your thoughts

I like it very much and go there at least once (usually for lunch) on each trip. It's not super authentic French food, but it is good food. I've always had good service and a pleasant experience there.

(Every restaurant gets bad reviews; I always say to go anyway and decide for yourself whether you like it.)

DD and I really like it. Like PP said, not sure how "authentic" some dishes are but the things we've ordered have been tasty. DD said her chicken was the best she'd ever had. I like it because they offer more than one entree option for vegetarians.

We ate there on Fri. 12/2 prior to the Candlelight Processional, our first time ever. Maybe it was just the night and they were off but I didn't feel our meal was worth the cost. I had the chicken-it was good, the potatoes were more like fried potatoes, my husband had the duck. He said it was so-so. Overall I felt our meals were bland and not as enjoyable as I would have hoped. On a different note though, our server was very attentive despite being very busy.

Have never had a bad meal there. Others are right, its not really authentic, but the food has always been good and the bacon flatbread is great!
Only think I don't like is the check in procedure. They don't have beepers, they just come out and call your name (not loudly) and you hope your within hearing distance.

we love chefs -- it is a must do for us, usually we go twice a trip. the onion soup is to die for, as is the creme brulee. i've only ever gotten the macaroni and cheese as my entree, and it is good, but heavy. i plan on trying some new things this time around and i'm sure it will all be good

Love Chefs. Best ham and cheese sandwich. . .ever.

Lobster bisque is great. Chocolate puff choux (profiteroles) excellent as well.

Make sure you have a reservation when Remy will be out and about. Your daughter will surely enjoy that!

I've had several meals there over the years, and all have been excellent. It's a pleasant, comfortable place to eat, we've always had great service, the food is wonderful.

How do we find out when Remy is scheduled?

We will be going to Chefs for the third time next month. We love it, even the kids ask to go back! We always go at lunch. I LOVE the Lobster Bisque, and DH gets salmon, and whatever sauce they put on top is what he loves about it, I looked it up on the DIS menus, and I couldn't find the exact name of the sauce.
Remy is so cute, and the lady that takes him around taught my kids a few words of French, which is amazing, considering DS is extremely shy, and won't talk to anyone he doesn't know, and he was speaking french with her! Also our server was a very neat person to talk to, and he taught the kids a little French as well. I really enjoy going there, and if we didn't have so many other must do restaurants, I would go there 2x during our trip.

Chefs de France is my favorite restaurant at EPCOT. I think the fixed prix is fantastic and I love seeing Remy. The service has always been incredible.

No complaints on my part.

I have a dd13 for whom this was her pick last year, she has been on a french everything kick for a while now, you would not BELIEVE how many Eiffel Tower shirts that kid has now, LOL. Needless to say, we weren't very enthusiastic about it, but everyone got to pick. We were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed this restaurant! My husband and dd(11) had the spare ribs, dd(13) had the mac & cheese, I had the chicken, I think (been a year, so I can't really remember and we were on deluxe that trip, so we had a LOT of food). I do remember that I had the french onion soup which was REALLY good, dh had the cheese plate, which he enjoyed, one of the girls had the lobster bisque, but wasn't super crazy for it, not sure why. We had a creme brulee for one of the desserts, and the profiteroles for another, and as much as I adore creme brulee, I actually preferred the profiteroles. (Might have been comparing creme brulee to the EXCELLENT Amarula creme brulee from Jiko the night before, though). We found the wait staff to be extremely attentive here, and very friendly, and we loved seeing Remy.

I love Chefs; I think the restaurant is beautifully cozy, and I've only had great experiences there with food. I will definitely visit on future trips, too.

I think it's great to try new places; just go there with an open mind. Who knows, you may end up loving it, too!

We've found their lunch menu to be pretty good. I'm in agreement that dinner there needs to be improved.

we love it.We go every trip.Never had a bad meal or experience there and we have been for both lunch and dinner

We liked eating there and seeing Remy, but the servers and chefs all spoke French to us or had extremely thick French accents and it was very hard to understand. I have many food allergies and couldn't understand what they were telling me about the food. Our server seemed annoyed that we couldn't understand her, which obviously we were in France, but Epcot.

We had the roasted chicken which was good, the French onion soup was excellent, puff choux dessert was ok. Husband didn't like his baked macaroni at all, but did like his lobster soup. My daughter wouldn't touch her burger after one bite, very dry. I would go back for lunch and get the soup and probably the ham and cheese sandwich I've heard so much about.

We ate there on our trip in September...we thought it was ok...the escargo was fabulous...the salad was also really good. I didn't like the potatoes but my husband said they were delicious and he's the potato expert. Below is my review

For apps DH got the Cassolette d'escargots de Bourgogne au beurre persille - casserole of escargots (snails) from Burgundy baked in parsley and garlic butter
096.jpg

this was a leap for my meat and potatoes husband. He thought the snails were tender and buttery and the parsley gave it a bright flavor on top of the heavy butter.

I decided to go with a salad since I was roasting and got the Salade Au Bleu - romaine hearts, blue cheese dressing, bacon, walnuts, croutons
095.jpg

As you can see I didn't get the blue cheese dressing and subbed in the vinaigrette. This was a great choice as the dressing was fantastic. The bacon on the salad was crisp which was good since the walnuts were a bit soft.

DD2 and DD3 split the Friand au Fromage - Cheese puff pastry
097.jpg

I tasted this and it was greasy and my kids did not eat it. They did eat the mixed greens with the same vinaigrette as my salad.

For the entrees my husband ordered the Canard a l' orange, haricot verts et polenta - Duck breast and leg confit a l' orange, French green beans and polenta
101.jpg

I tasted this and learned I do not like duck - probably why DH ordered duck again later so I wouldn't eat his food. DH thought it was delicious. He felt it was a sweeter meet but gave the same texture as a rare beef. He felt the french green beans should have been named "garlicky garlic green sticks" and the polenta did not have any taste to it.

I decided to order the Filet de boeuf grille, sauce au poivre vert Gratin Dauphinois et haricots verts - Grilled tenderloin of beef with green peppercorn sauce original potato gratin of Savoy and green beans
100.jpg

Uhhh...good thing I got the green beans so I could kiss DH later :) I thought the beef was good and the sauce/gravy was really good as well. It wasn't too peppery as I thought it would be. The potatoes were YUCK! You could tell they had been sitting in some hotel pan waiting to be scooped onto the next plate. I tasted then my husband scarfed them down - he eats anything tater. He said that aside from the topping the rest were good and the potato was still somewhat firm and hadn't gone to mush.

DD2 and DD2 split the Croquette de Boeuf en Brioche - Ground beef steak in a brioche bun, served with French fries
102.jpg

It was a hamburger on a normal bun :thumbsup2 The fries were not too greasy and piping hot when they came to the table. I should have totally swapped my potatoes for the fries.

On to dessert..but don't get too excited :sad2:
DH decided to get the Creme Brulee - Vanilla creme brulee served with a Madeleine
104.jpg

He thought it tasted like burnt sugar. When he ate the custard alone he thought it tasted ok but had a good texture. I am used to the opposite where the flavor can be good but the texture is off.

I got the Crepe a la pomme et cannelle, glace vanille, caramel jus de pommes - Crepes filled with cinnamon, apple, vanilla ice cream and apple caramel sauce
103.jpg

I could not wait to get this. There were 2 reasons why I booked here; 1-it was close to where we would watch illuminations and 2-this dessert. I was extremely disappointed  The caramel sauce was awesome but the crepe was mush on mush on much with some apple cinnamon mush on the inside. I would totally go for ice cream with the caramel sauce in the future.

DD2 and DD3 got the Choix de Glace ou Sorbet - Choice of Ice Cream or Sorbet - vanilla, chocolate or sorbet of the day. I did not get a picture of - it was vanilla ice cream like the scoop on my plate.

Would we eat here again...possibly..maybe once we have cycled through the WS TS meals or to share a meal.

we ate their at dinner, I have been to probably 20 disney restaurants and most are pretty good but this one was horrible. I don't put much emphasis on service (ours sucked) because everyone will get different service but the food was terrible, I had the duck it was awful, my parents had the filet which they said was not very good and my wife had the salmon which she said was fine

We went there for the first time last month. Loved it!!! Our waiter was great and spoke French to my dd13 who is taking French in school right now.

We loved the food, and the dessert.

Our meal for one adult and 3 kids (who all ate off the adult menu), including the tip was somewhere around $180-$200. And that was with no alcohol. We had the free dining. I would never pay that much out of pocket for the meal. But for free dining, it was wonderful!!
