My BFF called and said "what are you doing for your birthday on Monday (10/03)". I replied "Nothing I guess". She said "Good, Let's go to Epcot for the Food & Wine Festival". So I decided to try and make reservations for dinner on Monday night. The only thing I could get was Chefs de France. Our ressies are for 8:10. I'm really not into fancy or spicy food. Exactly how is the food there? I know everyone says the Lobster Bisque is to die for. Will we be able to see the fireworks? So looking forward to this spur of the moment 3day/2night girls getaway. :cheer2:

I've read a handful of reviews of Chefs and it looks like a nice restaurant! I think they would have food you would enjoy-I've heard they make a good and simple , but sophisticated macaroni and cheese dish and really good desserts. What's better than that on your birthday? :)

I highly recommend the french onion soup here. Actually, I made an ADR at Les Chefs for my upcoming trip just FOR that onion soup, had it 10 years or so back and still remember it fondly.

I just finished my review of Les Chefs... had lunch there during my trip last month. It was the first time I'd ever eaten there, and loved it! LOVED. The onion soup was yummy... the baked mac & cheese was delicious. Two other people in my party had the quiche Lorraine and absolutely RAVED about it. I didn't think the food was too fancy, at all.

Even if you get seated next to or near the windows, I don't think you'd have a great view of IllumiNations. There's quite a bit of space between the restaurant and the lagoon... I imagine it would be full of people who are sitting/standing to watch.

Chefs is good.

Also, if you go to online & put in the time of 7:30 p.m. party of 2 you'll pull up lots more available:

Coral Reef at 7:30 & 8:30...my DH fav!
La Hacienda de San Angel at 6:45
Teppon Edo at 8:50

a party of 4 pulls up even more...

My DD and I made a lunch reservation just for the french onion soup, it's our favorites soup, after hearing everyone rave about it. It was so bland, I was surprised and had to assume it had to be a fluke. My DD even put salt in it hoping that would help and said that now it tasted like hot salty water.

It is a very pretty restaurant and I love the all the windows. I've also seen complaints about how close the tables were. We were there in August and I thought we had plenty of privacy. Didn't feel close at all.

We ate at Chefs in August 2010. I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to going back on my next trip. Loved the French Onion soup! I wonder how the lobster bisque is??? My sister and I both had the short ribs and they were good. We were able to see Remy, which was entertaining for the kids.

DH and I ate here September 2010 and the food was very good. Make sure you get some Creme Brulee for your birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:bday:
