What are the differences in these two restaurants, and which one would you recommend? We will be eating with all adults, no children, if that makes a difference. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

with no children, I would definately recommend Bistro de Paris. We ate here our last trip and loved it. It is upstairs from Chefs and FAR less crowded. When we went there were only about three or four tables being served compared to a packed house downstairs at Chefs. It is a very classy place with all the waiters in tuxes, and it really gives off an 'upscale' vibe even though most people are in park clothes. The food was GREAT. DW had the four course chef's menu and I had what might have been the best steak I have had on property, the beef tenderloin. Be prepared though, the bill was STEEP, but I think well worth it. One hint, avoid the 'Classic French Cocktail' the waiters push to 'Start Your Meal off in the French Style', it is just grape flavored champagne served in a small flute glass for $12 a pop.

I would agree with Bistro. There is no children's menu, so they sort of discourage children and it is quieter. It is more formal, and if you compare the menus you will find that there is a higher quality and less routine to the food.

Neither menu (on WDWIG) list the desserts, but they definitely are better at Bistro (think chocolate or Grand Marnier souffles, among other items).

I prefer Bistro although I've never had a bad meal at either. Bistro is quieter, more intimate and a nice atmosphere. The food and service have been great both times we've been. Chefs is noisier and busier. Chefs is a larger restaurant.

I too would go with Bistro, assuming it's within your budget. We ate at both last year; Bistro was our Thanksgiving Dinner. We had the four-course tasting menu with the wine pairings - fantastic! The only reason we're not going back this December is a pledge to try all new restaurants.

Funny story though. We were with my partner's niece, who was 15. She ordered one of the steaks, and the waiter--straight from Paris, I'm sure--said, "No, it's not good tonight--a bit greasy" (imagine this with a very French accent). "You'll have the filet." He clicked his pen and walked off. She was speechless, and our explanations that he probably knew best had little effect.

She is now questioning whether she still wants to go to Paris for her 18th birthday!

;)
