I haven't seen one good review of this restaurant and we are eating there for our first night at Disney in a couple of weeks. :sad2: Can anyone tell me I didn't make a mistake reserving here?

Every restaurant has folks that love it and folks that hate it. I actually loved it. I've dined there twice so far and have never been disappointed with the food.

We've eaten here quite a few times and have always had wonderful experiences!!

What did you order?

The first time I ate there, I dined alone. I had the French Menu, which is French onion soup - very tasty, but of course I love French Onion Soup, a ham and cheese sandwich with a small salad and vanilla creme brulee. It was a very simple menu, but good.

The last time we were there, I had the Lobster Bisque, the braised short ribs and the sorbet assortment. Again, delicious. DH had the escargots, (he's more adventuresome than I) the roast chicken and the creme brulee.

We had no complaints.:thumbsup2

Eaten there just recently 3 weeks ago. We really enjoyed the food. It was during F&W. It was a bit crowded and noisy when we went, Sat. dinner. However, service and food was excellent.

This was our third time in the past 2 yrs. and every time we have enjoyed it. We would go back in a heart beat!!!! :thumbsup2

We have eaten at Chef's De France over 8 times and only had one bad experience with service. To be fair our party was for 10 people and it is hard for most servers to keep 10 people happy in my opionion. The other meals only had 3-5people dining at a time.

For the good news, the food is always great. I love the duck dishes they offer. The beef tenderloin is excellent. The salads are both tasty, especially the goat cheese one. I do suggest Alascienne flatbread-what could be better than bacon, creme fraiche and onion? If you enjoy pate and salamis try the assisete campagnarde or the cheese platter.

One thing my dad had tried that was not so good were the shortribs-they were greasy and a little too fatty for him.

For dessert the creme brulee is great, but my favorite are the profiteroles. ;)

I think the food is pretty tasty. What I don't like so much is that the tables are very close together, that coupled with the somewhat frenetic atmosphere makes it not so relaxing.

I don't know why you would be sad...?

We've eaten there twice recently and enjoyed it both times.

We had a super meal here in Sept. I had the scallops and shrimp, Wonderful, the scallops were seared perfectly, dessert was great, think DH had the lamb. Creme' Brulee and the chocolate crispy cake which was out of this world! I also ordered the escargot OOP, done very nicely!

What one person loves, the next will hate. We have never had a bad meal or experience at Chefs de France. Keep your reservation, and let your family be the judge as to whether or not its worth going back to. Have a wonderful vacation!!!:thumbsup2

We had a wonderful meal there last December (short ribs, scallops & shrimps, beef tenderloin all excellent!) and just added Chefs for our trip next week :thumbsup2

You must have been unlucky, when choosing which reviews to read. I've seen many more positive than negative reviews for Chefs. We had a great meal there last month. It's always been our favorite, non-Signature restaurant. Although, our meal at Chefs last month was better than our meal at Flying Fish. The tables are close together, but I never feel like there's enough room in WDW restaurants.

We really enjoy it there! We have always had terrific service and good meals. I like the atmospehre, and we usually end up getting a window seat, which is very nice. I would give it a try and judge for yourself.

The French Menu
We love it! It's crowded sometimes, but that can make it more fun. If you get there before 7:00 pm for dinner this is one of my favorites at a great price.

We'll be eating there for the first time on this visit, but dFIL, who will be with us, has eaten there many times and says it's one of his favourite restaurants at Disney World. He was very happy to hear I'd made ADRs there. I'm looking forward to it.

We were just there in Oct and I can't say enough wonderful things about our experience.

We were a table of 4 and each had something different so we can do a small taste of each.

Appetizers:
Escargots
Mushroom Flatbreads
Tartare of Salmon
French Imported Cheeses

Soup: Loster Bisque

Dinner:
Baked macaroni & cheese
Seared Tuna with olives & capers
Sauteed Scallops & Shrimps
Roasted breast of duck

Dessert:
Creme Brulee
Porifuterolest Yea, the cream puffs

Every dang thing was delicious. And our service was outstanding. I would return in a heartbeat!

:cool1: This makes me happy. After hearing bum reviews, we have not made it over there the past few trips, but really wanted to try it! Cant wait...can already taste the shrimp and scallops we will be eating in one week! Cant wait!

Enjoy it Woodcourt! Ask about the newspapers hanging from the coatracks. It's pretty interesting.

We went for lunch and loved it!

We had flatbreads, lobster bisque, the chicken crepe, the angus burger, apple cinnamon crepe and creme brulee ... all great. Granted, we didn't take the adventurous route (and we are adventurous eaters but that day we just wanted comfort food, I guess) but it was good.
