Need help deciding whether to keep Chef's De France res. for evening EMH night.:surfweb:

Well, you will need the EMH to get through the thing! I thought the food was good, but literally it took two and a half hours to get through the whole thing!

I LOVE Chef's De France. I've never had it take longer than 1 1/2 in the 3 times I have eaten there.....I find the food to be better than most. I say keep it!

We love it here! We have always had terrific food and great service! The times we have gone we were out in about 1 1/2 hours. But, our seating times were around 5:30-6:00 each time that we have gone.

We had good service and food! I love the location! I would say keep it!:thumbsup2

I loved it the first time I went but I went last week and it was the WORST meal of our trip.

Escargots were good, but you can't really mess those up.

My friend's beef was DRY and the polenta it came with was DISGUSTING! My lamb was also dry and had no flavor, and neither did the rice it came with.

The desserts were alright.

This is what I am afraid of. After reading most restaurant reviews at WDW, I realize that people either love the places or hate them, no in between. :sad2: I guess I will have to try it, as I will 'Ohana, which gets a love/hate review from everyone.

Chefs is one of our absolute favorites -- I say keep it! :)

I really like it.

Remember your servers are FROM the country of the resturant. For these kids the American "eat in a hurry" is a whole new experiece. In France meals are an event and take a while LOL! I have always found the service there to be fine however.

I have never had a bad meal and have eaten there several times.

The worst meal of our trip! The steak was awful!
if you go stay away from the steak.
service was great though, even though they seemed kinda snobby! LOL

Maybe it was an off night -- DH had steak at Chefs and thought it was absolutely wonderful.

Aaaaand... there we go, I was wondering how long it would take for an American to call the French waitstaff snobby.

My mum and I went on our last trip. We didn't hate it per say but it was probably our least favourite meal of the trip. We've only been the one time though, and I'd be willing to try it again (it just wasn't my mum's cup of tea at all, so it'll probably have to be saved for a solo trip at some point).

We had a good meal there in Sept. GREAT service, some of the best of the week! Food was all excellent, the tables are just a little close for my comfort =)

We'd def try it again!

I'd dump it. But some people like it. You have to try it for yourself. Personally, I think it's the worst example of watered down, americanized French cuisine I've ever had. I am a very tough critic of French cuisine due to my training, tho. Your mileage may vary.

I say keep it. We ate there twice during our trip in January. We are going again in August for Free Dining and my DH wanted to be sure we have an ADR for Chefs.

We thought the food was excellent and we liked the atmosphere and the service.

I just dropped my ADR at Chefs...just looked at the menu again, and there just wasn't enough there to excite me.

Chefs de France is one of my favorite restaurants. Dh and I loved the steaks, and we always order the escargot and the cream pizza-type appetizer (I'm sorry--I cannot remember the name of that appetizer, but it was the most heavenly dish ever). It is a must-do for every trip. I am sure one day in te future we will probably encounter a less-than-spectacular experience because every WDW restaurant has some mixed reviews, but so far so good with Chefs.

We thought the food was really good, but the service was the issue we had. Our server was MIA for long periods of time (15 - 20 minutes). When I asked him about his absence he quipped about how late it was and how many tables he had covered that night.........not my problem!!! As I tell my employees, if you can't handle the pace to maintain service from the first cover to the last cover, maybe this is not the job for you. The food is what makes us even consider another trip to this venue. Was it great French cuisine, No. Was it good food with quality ingredients, Yes. I would say give it a try and don't let front of the house service reflect on the quality of the food you will receive (although, many seem to think the food wasn't that great).

All that being said, go and plan for a wonderful experience. Servers, chefs and line cooks may not be "on" with every person who comes through the door, but the mark of a good employee is one who can make the guest believe they are!

:thumbsup2

My wife and I like it. It is crowded and somewhat noisy, but almost all Disney TS is now.

I ordered the rustic assortment of French pates, and charcuteries and
DW ordered the imported cheese plate. With our wine, we had a little picnic waiting for our main course. It was very, very good. The meal took about 1.5 hours. Since we speak French and our DD is a French major, we spent more time with our waitress. Maybe, that's why you didn't see much of her. LOL
