I would like to know if chef Mickey is worth it. I have a DD10 DS7 and DD2 and we will be there Easter week. Will it be better to go for breakfast or dinner? How much does it cost? Are the characters accesible?. We have been to WDW over 20 times and have never had dinner there. All input is appreciated.

We've eaten dinner at Chef Mickey's twice (including this past Thanksgiving) and enjoyed it both times. It's not cheap, with T-Giving dinner for two adults and two kids (including a couple of beers) running up to about $100 with tip. I can't remember if it was more expensive for Thanksgiving or not.

The buffet is good and has a wide range of choices, including a carving station with prime rib and other goodies. There's also a kids' section with pizza, chicken strips, etc.

Characterwise, they usually have one serving as a greeter (I think it was Donald the last time we were there). Other characters, including Goofy, Mickey, Minnie, Chip and Dale, circulate around to each table to pose for pictures and sign autographs. You'll get the full crew by your table during a normal dinner time. They also do a napkin twirling thing from time to time.

We love Chef Mickey's - we always make it a point to have dinner with Mickey on our last day (we made an exception and had Christmas Dinner with Mickey last month).

Our Christmas Dinner (2 adults and 2 children) was about $80 before tip (we didn't have any beer or mixed drinks).

We have noticed that the adult buffet choices vary from vacation to vacation, but we always find some really good stuff. The cold shrimp and mussel salad and ribs are to die for. Oh yeh, and the dessert table offers something for everyone.

We can't wait until Spring Break to dine with Mickey again.

(We have never had breakfast at Chef Mickey's because I'm not a big breakfast eater).

Enjoy!!

Hands down, Chef Mickey's is the best family dining experience we've had at Disney World. (California Grill was our favorite "couples" restaurant). The food was actually pretty good, and there was something for everyone. My husband and I enjoyed the prime rib and the kids liked the pizza. The characters were lots of fun, and having them come to your table as you eat sure beats standing in line at the parks for autographs! This was definately the place in Disney World with the best photo ops. Bring lots of film. I made the reservations for Chef Mickey's and did not tell the kids or my husband it was a character meal. (They had no idea there was such a thing!) The joyful look on the kids' faces throughout the meal was priceless! Keep it a surprise if you can!

Never had dinner at Chef Mickey's but we've had breakfast several times.

The last time we were there, my son, he was 4 at the time, him and Goofy rolled around the floor tickling each other and laughing.

He had a blast and the breakfast was great too.

DS loved it so much that when we go on our trip we will be dining at Chef Mickey's

We are looking forward to trying it for the first time this trip. We are going to do MK that day and take the Monorail over to the hotel for a 5ish PS time. After dinner, Monorail back for some last rides and Wishes.

We were just there over New Year's and it is the best for access to Mickey himself. We must have a dozen pictures of Mickey and our family. And the food is pretty good too. The dessert bar is great. Two kids will love it there.

We make it a point to have breakfast there each time we visit. The buffet is extensive and very good and the atmosphere is like a big party. The character interaction is good and they circulate constantly).

We have either dinner of breakfast at Chef Mickey's each visit to WDW. It's a great way to see Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale. It's fun and the food is good. I'll admit the food wasn't great the last time we went which was for Mother's Day brunch (probably due to the holiday so an off day?), but that was the only time we weren't happy with the food. We will definitely return to Chef Mickey's during our next visit. It's a must do for us. ::MickeyMo

This is all great info...can someone tell me the times..like how long does the dinner last?

After more trips than I can count, we always take our grandson to CM. He is 9 now and enjoys it as much as he did when he was 3. We enjoy it too and the food is always good. We, however, like to only go to the early dinner seating, so always call on the first available day (now 90 days before) to get an early seating. A PS is a must for this meal no matter what time of year you go. Last year we were at the AKL in mid-late January and could not get in unless we wanted to eat after 8:45 for the entire 6 nights we were there. Nothing ever openned up and this was during the slow time of year. If you're thinking of doing this Easter week, you need to get on that phone ASAP. JMHO

We also love Chef Mickey's. My dd isn't quite as 'into' the characters as she was. So, CM's fills the bill for us. We get a great Mickey fix and decent food. We have eaten both breakfast and dinner there. I prefer dinner but not by much. My dh insists that we eat dinner there once each trip. The meal lasts pretty much as long as you want it to. If you eat slowly and wait for characters it could take an hour or so!! Or eat quickly and be out of there fast. Your choice. Call early for PSs tho. They fill up quickly.
