I have never been to Chef Mickey's before. What is it like?

A buffet in the Contemporary. Some love it, some hate it. You can check out the menu on AllEarsNet.com. It's loud but there is good character interaction, Mickey Minnie Donald Goofy and Pluto, if I recall correctly.

I love Chef Mickey's! I have been with kids, without, with me and my mom, with me an my sister. I think it is fun. There is a "party" every 20 minutes. It is impossible to leave and be grumpy.

I love it, and have been going there since before they put it in the Contemporary.

The food is good (nothing too fancy, but I have always liked it, especially the make your own sundae bar!!)

The characters are the best -the classics-Mickey Minnie Pluto Donald Goofy

All in all a win win for us Plus if you spend the day at Magic Kingdom, you get to ride the monorail to the Contemporary (who doesn't love the monorail lol!!)

Loud screaming, singing, napkinwaving chaos. Food is regular buffet fare, nothing special, generally edible. Go if you want to see the characters or you have kids who want to see the characters.

We visited Chef Mickey's last week for breakfast. We thought the food was good for a breakfast buffet. Normal breakfast food. I liked that they had someone making waffles at the buffet. They were very good. It's also a great place to catch the fab five.

Your description made me laugh. Napkinwaving chaos. hahhaha. its so true thou. I personally do not like chef mickeys. Its awful, everything about it. The (breakfast) food selection, the quality of food, the temperature of the food is crap. The atmosphere is dreadful, the noise is awful. Honestly, i did it once. Glad i tried it at least, but never again. THANK THE LORD that my son has never asked to go back!!!

I just ate there for the first time on Wednesday. I loooooved it!! Thought the food was yummy and plenty of it! The coffee totally sucks but it does everywhere at Disney! I'm pretty sure there is crack in those donut bites because I could have eaten a whole bowl full and am STILL daydreaming about them!!!

One of our "must-do" spots every trip. Food is usual buffet fare, busy, noisy and fun!

We did it once. We might do it again if we ever stay at a MK area resort, but we usually stay at the Epcot resorts.

I would love to go there. That's how my family is too although we have stayed at the Saratoga Springs.

Very noisy.
Very crowded - expect to wait up to an hour during normal meal hours, even with an ADR
Good, but ordinary food.
Very pricey.

I guess if you really really really want a character meal (not a big deal with us), I recommend that you go at an off hour and go there hungry.

IMHO this is one of the worst values at WDW

We had good character interaction, but the setting was like a school cafeteria. It was also very noisy. The food for dinner was on par with my college cafeteria or Golden Corral/Sizzler. Food was edible, but nothing was really "good" (except the Mickey oreo things).

Maybe breakfast is better?

I would try once, but it is not my favorite place to see Mickey.

I would definately recommend the breakfast. Hot french toast is hard to beat. If you are going for a calm relaxing meal....stay away. If noise, kids, characters, and decent food is ok with you, then do it. Our boys loved it and would do it again. If I wasn't with the kids, don't know that I would go, but for us it is all about the kids. Got out after tip for $111.00 for 2 adults and 2 kids. People can disagree, but I don't tip 20% for a buffett.

We love Chef Mickey's, it's kinda noisey but the breakfast is really good. Great selection, you will ge to see the famous fab five.

We eat dinner everytime we go to WDW. We love the character interaction, the choice of food on the buffett is great, and it is just plain fun for us.

We have never had to wait more than 15 minutes for our table (we tend to eat around 6:30).

I am going on a girls trip this September and thinking about eating there again even though my kids won't be going.
