Hi, I'm a Disney veteran, so I know how important it is to get ADR's for the most popular places to eat in the World. I found out not long ago that DH has to go to Orlando on business for a week and the following weekend we will travel to Disney for the first time with our 9 month old DS. I'd love to take DS to Chef Mickey's. I just called to try and get ADRs for July 2. I couldn't get anything earlier than 8:40 (too late for DS). So instead I opted for the Concourse Steakhouse (which I heard was good).

I was wondering if any of you have tried walking up to Chef Mickey's at opening time and getting a seat. Or is it even possible? I've never been in this situation. I usually have ADRs as soon as I can get them.

Thanks for any input!

P.S. If any of you cancel a seating for that night, please let me know!

Have you considered doing something besides dinner at CM? It would probably be easier to do a breakfast and walk up at openning than a dinner.

It doesn't hurt to try. It is a busy time when you are going (near the 4th) but I don't think you should give up hope! Try what's the worst you eat at Concourse? I have to say it is one of my favs!

It's not that I don't want to eat at Concourse, it's that I would like to do one other character meal for DS's first visit to Disney World. We're also doing Donald's breakfast at AK (one of my favs--we went here on the honeymoon and once since then). I may just try walking up at 5:00 and seeing what's available. If nothing is open then I just walk over to Concourse and my 5:30 reservations. :) Thanks!
