The last time we ate at Chef Mickey's my girls were 6 & 9. They are now 16 & 18. My girls loved their breakfast buffet. There were Mickey waffles, lots of cereal choices, brownies, rice crispy treats, eggs, bacon and let's not forget the bag of candy they filled. We are actually going for brunch this time. I know with buffets items can change on a daily basis. i know some mentioned they have recently been disappointed with chef Mickey's. Can we find these same things still at Chef Mickey's and with it being a brunch as well ? anyone want to share any recent pics? Thank you!

Chef Mickey’s does not get much love here on the DIS. I think you will still find those things on the buffet

We've had breakfast there twice.....once about 9 years ago and also in Feb 2018. Both times we liked the food a lot. At the recent visit in Feb, they had all the standard breakfast items plus a really great cheese hash brown casserole, southwest omelets and smoked salmon that I especially loved.

I will add that I generally do lunch or dinner at Disney instead of breakfast b/c the meals are so expensive and in general you get more variety and food that is more worth the cost at lunch and dinner

While I prefer breakfast over the other meal options (and hated dinner), I recently had a friend go there for brunch who loved it. Would I like it? Maybe...Maybe not. The point is that everyone's tastes are different. First hand experiences are the best way to know if you'll like it. It's why I'm pretty much giving up on the reviews of others when it comes to my Disney dining choices. We've liked enough things others have hated and hated enough things that others love to the point where I think you might as well just let your personal preferences guide you.

Chef Mickey's is our Arrival meal. We think it's the best way to start out our vacation! As far as the food goes, we enjoy it. It's not the best food on property but it's not bad either. We prefer brunch over other meals and we have eaten there a lot.

We did the brunch last trip. It is the only time I have been. I had low expectations based on everything I heard here. It turned out better than I expected.

Not sure it would be on my radar with older teenagers but if that is what everyone wants to do, then go for it.

We are in the, I won’t say hate it, but it is definitelynot our favorite, camp. You wait forever to be seated, it is noisy chaos, and the character interactions we so rushed and squished together that we saw them all in 10 minutes and didn’t even have time to get out my phone camera before they were walking away. The food at breakfast was no different than any other disney breakfast buffet, which is to say it was fine. Better than dinner for sure.

BUT I say go for it just for the nostalgia. That is the best part of a disney vaycay afer all.

Let’s just say my family doesn’t go to CM for the food. o_O My daughter actually finds things she’s willing to eat there so I shouldn’t complain too much, lol. It’s more about the characters, though. Even my daughter would choose to eat elsewhere if the characters weren’t there.

It has been years since we had breakfast at CM, however we do go for dinner. I know a lot of folks don't like it, but we do. I have to say I originally had planned our December arrival meal to be CM but ended up booking Kona instead for my niece, and hope we all don't regret that! LOL!

Breakfast is more dependable than dinner at Chef Mickeys and saying that we have had dinner there many times. Except for the place getting a little messy at dinner (put a hundred kids in your kitchen and see how it looks) it was fine. We do like breakfast there a lot more than dinner and just a suggestion. We tend to get ADR's for as close to opening as possible. Everything is hot and fresh.

CM was a one and done for my family. Bad food, not very clean feeling (i'm sure it is due to the volume they serve), bad table location, chaotic and noisy. But glad we did it once when the kids were little. When my kids were teens we had a wonderful breakfast at Boma and toured the lodge, checked out the animals. They also liked the character breakfast at Cape May, and breakfast on the BW then we rented a surrey bike, fun! Lots of choices.

You won't be disappointed if you go in with realistic expectations. Breakfast/brunch food is pretty hard to mess up. The food is fine...not amazing, but not terrible either. Yes it can be loud, but the characters are a lot of fun. My kids always enjoy it as a way to kick off our trip.

This is us too. My kids begged to go this year (august) and we told them no because it was too much money and we were trying to not spend as much. Well I canceled WCC and made the switch. They are happy. FYI, their ages are 17, 14 & 12. They love the atmosphere and food is food, we don't go to Disney to eat 5 star meals. We are all happy with a little of this and a little of that and as long as there is ice cream my kids are happy!

I think brunch is a great choice because a lot of the families/groups aren't rushing to get to the parks.

Thanks for posting that. We're going to Chef Mickey's for breakfast (8:40 ADR on our water park day) this trip -- my son's and my first time going. This will be our 3rd family trip and my son (almost 9) got to pick 1 special meal. He chose Chef Mickey's and I figured that the breakfast food would be hard to mess up.

Last trip we did Hollywood & Vine (also for breakfast) and felt the same way. Saw lots of negative reviews of the food but we were happy with the quality.

We liked our meals at CM. We usually get the first seating at dinner- small wait time to be seated and very fresh food!

This ! My daughter now refers to the restaurant as "Camp Mickeys" after the breakfast we had there !
