Hello everyone! I just had to share this with you guys! My friend Tara and I actually accomplished something for her wedding this weekend!!

She is going to have a Welcome Party at Chef Mickey’s two nights before her wedding. This weekend we worked on stuff for her little favor boxes for that event.

This is the Chinese take-out box we are using:
(And when I say ‘we’, I mean ‘she’ – I’m just making some of the stuff and helping her put everything together! According to her, I am the crafty one therefore I have to help her.)

With red crinkle paper shred:

Or this clear one:

If we use the clear one, we’ll use red and black crinkle paper shred stuff.

For the boxes and shred, we are using www.papermart.com

And this is what we are going to put in the boxes:

There’s a pair of beaded Mickey Ears:

One or two of these resin Mickey magnets:

We don’t know if we should put one or two in the boxes. I’m thinking two, but we’ll see!

A little tin filled with red, black, yellow, and white candy:

The tin in this picture has beads in it so we could get the effect of all the goodies together! LOL We were going to use just the colored M&Ms, but then thought that it would be really neat to use all different kinds of candies in those colors – Jelly Bellies, M&Ms, Lemon Heads, Red Hots, licorice of some kind… etc. We're also going to put one or two of those embroidered Mickey head scrapbooking stickers on top of the candy tins. Like these: http://www.bizrate.com/kidsarts_craftssupplies/oid516626607.html

This place has candy listed by color!!! http://www.groovycandies.com/

We are also going to add a sheet of Mickey Mouse stickers, a WDW post card, and Jelly Belly LolliBeans suckers (Jelly Belly brand suckers shaped like jelly beans!) to the boxes. http://www.candywarehouse.com/jellybellypops.html

We’re both really excited about these! And this isn’t even her official resort Welcome Bag! (We still need to work on those!) This is just the goodie box for her Welcome Party! Plus, it isn’t even my wedding and I am just thrilled that things are moving along for her!

Oh, that reminds me… I gave her the little beaded mini wedding cake last week… She cried when I gave it to her! She loved it!! It was such a warm fuzzy feeling!! :goodvibes

Anywho, I just wanted to share our progress with you guys! And if you can think of anything we could add or change or anything, please share!

i wish i could make things like that! good to know she loved her beaded wedding cake, it was so cute!

Can you please share directions for the beaded mickey head? Thank you in advance.

Oh dear! I just sort of played around and figured out how to make them myself... I'm not sure exactly how I do it! (I think I do them a little different each time.) I needed to make one to go on top of a beaded wedding cake and I just sort of played around with the beads until I got it to look like Mickey ears!

I'm so sorry I really don't know a good way to explain it. :confused3 I don't know if you've ever seen a French bead book, but the string path is really weird like in one of those books!

WOW everything is sooo beautiful...:goodvibes

Thanks! Did you use wire or string? I could probably figure it out if I played around long enough. They are really cute and everything looks great.
