2 adults, dinner. I have an ADR for Chef Mickey's but keep hearing how awful the food is. We are not big seafood eaters but I hear that Cape May has options other than seafood. For anyone that has tried both, which would you recommend?

Thanks

I like Chef Mickey's more than Cape May, but it has been a couple of years since I ate at CM's.

I found the food at Cape may better. I also found the staff better. Also at Cape may your on the Boardwalk. It's easy to just take in the atmosphere after dinner or a character breakfast or lunch and just do the Boardwalk. Chef Mickeys is in the Contemporary resort, which I have always considered the least attractive of the Disney top end resorts to visit.

Where you are coming from? If running out of the Magic Kingdom and you want to return there, then Chef Mickey is literary within walking distance, or an easy monorail ride. Cape May is a bus ride. If your at Epcot or Hollywood studios then Cape may is an easy boat ride from both and within walking distance of the back gate at Epcot near the French Pavilion.

I am not a big sea food eater either unless but I found items I like at Cape May.:cool1:

We were going to have an early dinner before attending MVMCP. We would have a rental car so transportation would not be an issue.

I prefer Cape May over CM's. Chef Mickey's is really loud and the food is just OK. Do you want to see characters? Cape May is not a character meal at dinner, only at breakfast. We like Cape May, and we are not seafood eaters. HTH.

We have no problem not seeing any characters.

Our last trip we tried both places for the first time. We enjoyed Cape May and were disappointed in Chef Mickey. Chef Mickey was very loud and the options we felt were very limited. If you have young children it maybe more enjoyable. I am glad that we tried it but we are returning in November and have booked Chef Mickey again!

never tried chefs but CM is me and my DH's FAVORITE rest. at disney. If you go make sure you try the oreo bon bon dessert yummmmmmmmmy

Definitely Cape May over Chef Mickey's...food and selection is much better.

I voted for Cape May. We've done both for dinner, and my whole family preferred Cape May (and none of us eat any seafood!)

Looks like Cape May is definitely in the lead!

In this case, Cape May is a slam dunk.

You don't really see anyone rave over any food at Chef Mickey's. And while you can get bad reviews on any restaurant, you will get a lot of raves about Cape May for the crab legs, lobster tortellini, mussels, ribs, oreo bon-bons, lava cakes. About the only thing Cape May lacks that it could use to strengthen itself against the other dinner buffets is an ice cream machine.

Thank you everyone. I switched our ADR to Cape May. :thumbsup2
