My son desperately wants to meet Mickey face to face...Is this a good choice? We've been to character dinners with Pooh and friends and Im hoping this is similarly run. Does Mickey actually come to the table for a photo op? What other characters are there? The priority seating is full for Dec 1, but I was told we can just show up and maybe wait 45 minutes or sooner. True or false? (I don't know why I didn't call sooner!! Brain cramp I guess!)

He will meet Mickey face to face in his chef's outfit. Minnie, Chip and Dale, Pluto and Goofy are also there.

When we were there last November next to One Man's Dream in MGM they had a spot where you could go in and have your picture taken with Mickey -- you didn't have to buy it. You can also take your own pictures. Hopefully it will still be there.

Good luck.

You can also meet Mickey inside the MK in the Mickey's ToonTown area.

The dinner is very good though. It is a must do on our last full day on every trip.

We just came back and did the Chef Mickey's breakfast buffet. It was alot of fun and high energy eating place!! Your son would probably really enjoy it. As someone else said Mickey and gang are attired in their "chef" costumes.

Mickey also appears at other character meals. We did O'hana's last year at Poly and met Mickey in his Aloha gear. Even though we met Mickey in the parks too for pictures, we like to do character meals too, they are alot of fun!

You can also meet meet Mickey for pictures at the Judge's Tent in Toontown. We had no wait to meet him there! And we were there during Jersey Week and it was quite crowded. We couldn't believe we just walked in and met him! I think this was in part due to the fact that Mickey and gang were in front of the MK entrance everyday for pictures and autographs on a continuous basis and there was always a long line there! I guess after waiting to meet him there people didn't even try to greet him again at the Judge's Tent in Toontown.

our favorite place to see Mickey is at Donald's Breakfastosaurus. It is also very "boyish" themed with the dinosaur theming.

I went to both 'Ohana and Chef Mickey's for breakfast last month and saw Mickey there at both places. Personally, I prefer 'Ohaha better. Characters at Chef Mickey's were restricted by time and the section where I sat. But it did not happen at 'Ohana.

Just a thought for you!

We ate at Chef M's for dinner in August. Food is better than average, but still buffet. Desserts were very good, IMHO. Don't go if you expect to get food quality relative to price. If you think of the price as "entertainment" and go for fun first, food second, you will love it!!

Character interaction was great, lots of time with our table (and everyone else too, it seemed), and we got to sit in a small section by windows and we could see MK and castle- great view! Other big room, with character cutout things on wall seemed super noisy, so a tip if you have to wait anyway, ask for a table by the windows if you'd prefer quieter and more view.

have a great trip!

If this is a MVMCP night then it certainly is booked solid and crazy and I really don't know if they will be able to fit you at all.

Just a warning.

We were there Halloween week and on the MNSSHP nights it was insanely crowded and long waits even if you had a PS.

We enjoy the food and atmosphere at chef mickey's and we have great pictures of our daughter with Mickey and Minnie! They are my favorite pictures from the whole vacation. They aslo had pluto, goofy, chip and dale.

I wouldn't count on being gauranteed a table if you just show up. We arrived early for our PS and still had to wait becuase it was full. This was in September. I would keep calling to see if a PS becomes available just in case.

Thanks everyone! We've decide to wait and see how we feel when we get down there. I have called from our resort (OKW) same day and gotten a PS from a cancellation. (good tip about the window view!) Im approaching it with a very laid back attitude, after all it is Disney, no need to get all keyed up...thanks to Disney there is always something magical to do.
