Chef Mickey's or Ohanas'

Trying to decide which ADR to keep. I booked a last minute trip in December a month ago. I have been trying to snag ADR's ever since. I have a 730 am Ohana's that is before a day at Epcot and a late dinner at Chef Mickeys (9:20pm) after Epcot. I have an almost 2 year old who absolutely loves Mickey (and Minnie). I am worried that the Chef Mickey's may be too late for her. She is very flexible and would probably do just fine if she got a late nap in. Anybody with any experiences of what their toddler enjoyed? Or melt down experiences with toddlers and late dinners. She really is pretty easygoing but I realize we are in a totally different environment.

I think your taking a chance with that late ADR. Something to consider is that you are going to be at Disney, touring parks and out in the sun (even in Dec. We had the same situation happen to us last year, we had a late Chef Mickeys Ressie I think 8:40pm and my then 3 year old son who was looking forward to seeing Donald Duck feel asleep on the walk over to chef mickey's from MK. Whats kinda funny and sad is he never even woke up, even when Donald came and took a pic with him (see pic below) But then again this was our 6th day at the parks and he was tired by the end of the trip, so that that for what its worth. I would vote for Ohana's and try and see Mickey and minnie somewhere else. Either way, have a great trip...

I agree - skip the later ADR for CM... only do CM if you can get an earlier one. I feel like that's either going to be a complete waste with a sleeping child, or it's gonna be a complete disaster with a cranky child and overtired parent.

If you're gonna be at Epcot, could you possibly find a decent-time ADR for Garden Grill? It may be booked up, but in case you can get availability, Mickey is there, so it's another option. At the end of the day, I'd actually prefer this because it's family style - like a mini buffet brought to your table. No need to get out of your seat, so you don't have to worry about missing characters while you're getting food... and your tired feet will be glad to be in one place for the whole meal after a lot of walking at Epcot all day.

Another thought - you don't have to go to a character meal. Mickey and Minnie can both be found near the entrance to MK at the Town Square Theater (near Tony's). And you can find both Mickey and Minnie at the Epcot Character Spot (near Fountainview), along with Donald, Pluto, and Goofy. This is a nice spot because you stand on one line, but then move through all the characters fairly quickly instead of standing on a separate long line for each character. Enjoy your meals at meal time and enjoy your characters when it's character time!

I would DEFINITELY keep the Ohana one. The food is so good, and the CM time is just too late. You're not going to want to go.

You could either try and get a Garden Grill ADR for dinner or a Cape May ADR for breakfast if seeing characters are a big deal Those are both great meals!

Cancel your late night ADR and do like I do. We are going in December and I checked everyday for about 3 weeks until I was able to book Akerhus on December 24th for lunch. People change their minds and cancel their ressie's and hopefully some one cancels theirs and you pick it up. I hope that helps.

Also, what about trying a different restaurant. hoop dee do has a 4:00 show. No it's not a character dinner put it's a lot of fun for adults and kids alike.

Another vote for canceling CM and keeping O'Hana. I think the food at CM is mediocre at best while we've never had a bad meal at O'Hana. Also think 9:20 is way too late for toddler. You never know when a meltdown is coming and you would be paying way too much $$ to not enjoy everything...

I can't speak on CM, but disregarding the times, we did not like the Ohana breakfast. We didn't like the family style skillet and were disppointed in what it served - just bacon, eggs, potatoes, sausage, biscuits and waffles. We much preferred the breakfast buffets we did where there was much more of a selection and the price difference was little. You are truly paying for Lilo & Stitch at Ohana breakfast. We were a little sick that we spent $50 on bacon and eggs when we left there

I would choose Ohana, and I could be wrong, but I thought Mickey is at breakfast at Ohana? I mean I know characters arent always guaranteed, but on the DIS information site, it lists Pluto and mickey as characters at lilo and Stitchs Best Friend breakfast. Can anyone confirm that? (for me at least since out first breakfast res is there next week LOL)
