Chef Mickey's or Ohana?

We are doing 1 character meal on our trip. Kids are all boys ages 11, 6, 3 and all three still love characters. This is our first trip and we plan to do breakfast.

I had Chef Mickey's all scheduled but now with the hour changing I was thinking about changing our character meal day/time so we can still be there for rope drop but the only one open still that fits our needs is Ohana I believe.

Should I leave it as is or switch to Ohana?

Also any reviews on Hollywood and Vine? What characters are there usually?

I have done both and prefer Ohana. It is not nearly as loud and they bring the food to the table. Since I doubt food or noise is an issue for your kids, the driving force with be the characters. Ohana has Mickey, Pluto, Lilo and Stitch. Chef Mickey's has (as near as I can remember) Mickey, Pluto, Donald and Minnie (subject to change).

Unless your kids are big fans of Disney Junior, I do not recommend Hollywood and Vine. They are not the classic characters.

Choose based on characters. Personally, I love Lilo and Stitch, but go with who they really want to see b/c that's the point of a character meal, right? The Polynesian is beautiful and a fun place to eat, if that helps.

Thanks. I am just going to ask the kids which they prefer and let that be the deciding factor since trying to make the decision myself is stressing me out...LOL

I looked into Hollywood and Vine more and decided against it.

Does Ohana's have the Mickey waffles? What exactly do they bring you to your table there? I saw a complete list for Chef Micky's of what is on the buffet. I know at Ohana they bring the food to your table but they weren't very specific on what they brought (at least where I was looking).

They bring the usual breakfast fare: scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage (I think, it has been a while), fried potatoes and, yes, Mickey waffles.

For your next trip ;) I highly recommend breakfast at Tusker House in Animal Kingdom. Mickey, Goofy, Minnie and Donald are there in Safari outfits. Breakfast is the usual fare plus some African extras. If you can get your crew up early, try to get an 8am ADR (before the park opens). It is cool walking in a nearly empty park in the morning and be there for rope drop to get that first Safari of the day. You also finish in plenty of time to park hop or go back to the resort for a nap and swim.

A favorite with my DD (now 13 -- Where did the time go?) is Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom (can't get enough of Pooh and friends). As before, I recommend the 8am ADR and enjoy walking down the middle of an empty Main Street and gazing up at the castle.

I second the Crystal Palace as a favourite We went to MK for opening and our breakfast reservations were shortly after opening.

We have done Chef mickeys a few times and Ohanas a few times. On our last trip we took six kids. They all liked Ohanas better. I also prefer Ohanas breakfast. The food is better and it is nice having it brought to your table. It is much quieter. You still get to see Mickey too.

I was facing a similar dilemma...I already have Ohana reserved but since we are staying at BLT I thought I had made the wrong decision and we should have chosen CM instead because it is closer. After reading some of the posts here, I realize that I made the right decision and will be sticking with Ohana.

Hope this helps :thumbsup2
