Which is better for a December breakfast with me, DH, and DS (8) and DS (2)? Which has better food? Which has better characters?

p.s. I have been to OHana before for dinner...never been in Contemporary Resort at all.

We like Chef Mickey's better. Quality of the food is about the same (little bit above average), but we like the old Disney characters better than lilo and stitch (if that is what they still are at o'hana). The setting seems a little more rowdy at Chef Mickey's (which we like too).

We loved chef Mickey's. It was so much fun! The charecters were great, and Minnie did a fun celebration dance for us.

'Ohana's for me hands down - food and character interaction was so much better! The last two times we ate at Chef Mickey's, for Breakfast, everything was cold and the eggs weren't even cooked all the way - other guests we talked to had the same experience we had. Then we had breakfast at 'Ohana a few days later and wished we never spent the money at CM. Chef Mickey's use to be our favorite but not anymore :). However, maybe it will be different for you.... good luck with your choice.

Let me preface this by saying I have never been to Chef Mickey's...But we LOVED LOVED LOVED O'hana breakfast! We liked that it was family style so we didn't have to get up to go to a buffet and the food was great! Jambo juice, fresh fruit and Mickey waffles...you can't go wrong :)

We saw not only Lilo and Stitch, but Mickey and Pluto, too. Our kids loved it and so did we!

I haven't been to Ohana but Chef Mickeys is a must do for us.

I'm having the same debate. I love Ohana's! We have done it the past three trips. But we have never done Chef Mickeys and my husband says that all his friends have told him we need to try it. SO to make the DH happy I booked it instead. Now I am regretting it somewhat. I am not sure if that was a wise move. We already have our other must do breakfasts (CP and Princess). We only have time in the schedule for one more.

Chef Mickey's has an AMAZING buffet -and I prefer the characters at Chef Mickey's also. Ohana is offers a great dinner - but I have never been very impressed with the family style way breakfast is served there. Although if your children really "need" to meet Lilo and Stich, Ohana is a great place for that.

the food at 'ohana is fresh and hot. chef mickey's is a buffet, so it's a toss up. the food was average, but the fab 5 was a lot of fun!!!

We love Ohana Breakfast. Its nice that you don't have to get up and get your food. They serve it to you especially helps not to miss the characters that come to your table. I personally thing the food it better at Ohana's and love the bread and fresh fruit they serve you.

I prefered the food at Ohana. I prefered the atmosphere at CM. If you've never been to one of them, try it.

We love Ohana breakfast. The food is good and the character interaction has always been great. We also like the family style service over a buffet. We do breakfast there every visit.

Another thing to remember is that Chef Mickey's has the standard buffet where you can always get up yourself to get more food, where as at Ohana you need to ask your server for more food.

We like both but it's been awhile since I've been to Chef Mickey's so I would choose to eat there. We haven't been able to get ADR's is the reason. Hoping to for our next trip since we're staying in BLT. I want some Mickey waffles! :rotfl:

I would only recommend Ohana for it's breakfast, but not the dinner. Breakfast tend to have better service and served foods properly prepared and cooked. Dinner has proven to be consistently inconsistent in service and food preparation.

The Ohana breakfast is a more relaxed setting and a calmer character interaction, than Chef Mickey's. Its served family style so you are entirely dependent on your server and we found the service to be good back in June 2010. I think many guest do not ask for additional servings, since they have to request it from their server, typically when their at another table.

We also dined at Chef Mickey's in June 2010. Food is still served buffet style, so it has the typical setting tension of leaving your seat at the wrong time..you miss the character(s). Of course, the buffet more or less means you are only dependent on the server for drinks and alerting you of when the characters might reach your table. You will also get a wider range of breakfast offerings than Ohana. Both offer restaurant logo stage prop photos of your party taken before you are seated. Ohana offers the standard lei too.

CM: Mickey, Pluto, Goofy, Minnie, Donald
OH: Mickey, Pluto, Leo, Stitch
