We will be at Walt Disney World soon and I need some help with deciding where we should eat. Would you choose Chef Mickey's or Boma and why? Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

Do you have any reservations made yet?

We are going the same time and have Boma booked. I have thought about changing but there is nothing good left at all for the dates I am looking for. I know Chef Mickey has not be available at all.

Boma without a doubt. There is a wide variety of foods to try and I personally think it is fun to try something a little different than the "standard" buffet fare they serve at Chef Mickey's. We find the food delicious at Boma. The atmosphere is much better at Boma as well.

Chef Mickey's is something you should experience once in your lifetime, but personally I find it loud with so-so food. Not somewhere we plan to go back to anytime soon. ::MinnieMo

At just a little over two weeks out before you get there, it is highly unlikely that you'll be able to get anything at Chef Mickey's for breakfast or dinner. I would look online and see if either one has any availability and etake the one that does.

I have been to both locations for dinner and I would go with Boma because I thought they had better food selections.

"Hands down" ( using this expression due to being flamed in my thread, LOL) Boma is much better. While I'm not the biggest fan of buffets, Boma is one of the better one's I"ve been to with some uique offerings with just enough of the comfort foods one may need. :thumbsup2

You will really enjoy BOMA, incredible selection and a fun atmosphere. Animal Kingdom Lodge is also a great place to walk around after your meal. Enjoy your trip.:cool1::banana:

I try to avoid Chef Mickey's like the plague. It felt like such a chaotic mess in there and the food was just okay.
Boma on the other hand, has one of the best breakfasts on property. Go there!!!

Personally we prefer Chef Mickey's.

Just an FYI about Boma. While their food is "good", pretty much all the dishes are seasoned with sweet spices such as cinnamon or fruits. Even the meats are rubbed with cinnamon. The only foods that are "normal" are the kid station. Just posting this so you are aware of the flavors of this restaurant. It is not for everyone.
CM and Boma are completely different foods, so I just wanted you to be informed.
(sure wished I was informed about this before we went to Boma...because I certainly wouldn't have went.)

Have a good trip!

Interesting...I didn't find it to be that way at all, at least nothing off-putting. To each their own palette, I guess.

It's definitely a different selection of food, but nothing at Boma is too far out there (I mean, they advertise African-inspired dishes, but with a heavy emphasis on "inspired" - it's not too challenging).

On the other hand, the level of cleanliness, organization and general quality @ CM has gone down, both in my estimation and that of DH, who has been there many more times than I have.

I vote Boma.

Never had breakfast there, but my DH and I both loved dinner at Boma. The food was excellent and so was the atmosphere.

I would pick Boma because it's one of Disney's best, but if you're going with kids then maybe you should pick Chef Mickey's for the characters. And the monorail that zooms past the restaurant! The food there is good but Boma is definitely a lot better choice.
