Chef Mickey's on Epcot Day?

So, I know ideally Chef Mickey's would be on a MK day but, the only ADR I could snag happens to be on an Epcot day.

So, if you had breakfast at Chef Mickey's on an Epcot day would it be easier to drive and park at the Contemporary and then drive to Epcot vs. parking at the TTC and taking the monorail to the Contemporary and then to Epcot and back?

Can anyone tell me about the parking situation at the Contemporary and how long I should expect it to take to park and then get in for breakfast?

Thanks so much!:goodvibes

Are you staying offsite, and this is why you are driving?

If you are staying onsite, I would use Disney bus transportation - take it to MK and walk over to CR or take monorail. Then you can just hope on the monorail to Epcot when you are finished.

I have never driven in Disney (so someone else might have a better answer), but I would imagine that if you were driving, you would park at TTC and take the monorail to CR for breakfast, and then take monorail to Epcot. This way once you park, you are parked for the day and can just use the monorail for transportation.

You can park at the Contemporary for three hours if you have a reservation to eat there. It shouldn't take to long to park and get to the restaurant - I'd say 10 minutes or so if you had to park far away and were slow walkers or if you had a lot of stuff to get out of the car. If you are going directly to Epcot afterwards, it's not that bad a drive. As long as you have an ADR at Chef Mickey's, I would opt to park at CR, have breakfast and then drive to Epcot.

Alternatively, if you didn't mind a bit of extra time, catch the bus from POFQ to MK and then at the TTC, take the monorail to Chef Mickey's. Then after breakfast you could take the monorail back to the TTC and then catch the monorail to Epcot.

Your best bet, especially if you normally use Disney transportation, is to take a bus from your Resort to MK. The walk from the Bus Station to the Contemporary is almost the same as the walk from the bus station to the MK Monorail platform.

When you are done at CM take the monorail one stop to the TTC and change for the train to Epcot. And then, at the end of your day, take the bus from Epcot back to your Resort.

If you drive to CR, you will have a limit of three hours for parking, so after breakfast you would have to retrieve your car and then drive to Epcot.

Am I missing something? Why is everybody advising the original poster to use Disney transportation rather than drive? Wouldn't that take substantially more time?

If I were in this situation, I'd simply drive from my resort to the Contemporary, park there during my meal at Chef Mickey's, and then drive over to Epcot to enjoy the park. Relying on the public transportation options would requires a bus to the Magic Kingdom, a walk to the Contemporary and then two separate monorail rides to reach Epcot. That's a pretty nightmarish commute. Perhaps the greatest perk of having a car on property is the ability to drive between resorts quickly and easily. It's time to utilize that advantage.

For us we go to Chef Mickey on either our MK or Epcot day since we could get to the parks by monerail. I would take the bus from your hotel to MK and simply walk to the Contemporary Resort. The walk takes at most 5-10 minutes. After your meal at CM, take the monerail to Epcot (you will need to transfer at TTC). Once your day is finished, take the bus back to your hotel. This is easier than having to deal with a car. Enjoy your trip!!
