I'm thinking of switching a last-minute ADR and giving Chef Mickey's a try for lunch. Has anyone here dined at Chef Mickey's for lunch? If so, is the menu similar to the dinner menu? Also, how is it to dine there right now with the nearby construction? Is the construction intrusive to the atmosphere of the restaurant, or is it something you don't notice much when dining there?

We went there for lunch on Thursday. I was really nervous that we wouldn't even be able to hear each other talk across the table, but once we sat down we didn't have any problems.

I had never been there before so I don't know what they serve for dinner, but for lunch they had:

Carving station with turkey & roast beef
Chipolte Lime chicken legs
BBQ ribs
Ravioli
Potato Casserole
Salad Bar
Chicken Nuggets
Pizza
Mac n Cheese
Soup
Vegetables
Desert bar & make your own ice cream sundae bar

We had lunch there last week. The construction the day we were there was jackhammering and was a mess. There was scaffolding and dust. The food was much less quality than I remember from 2 years ago. However, because of the characters it was worth it for the kids. I just wish there was some 'extra' Disney did to make up for the construction there. Better food or another character or something....

If you go to www.touringplans.com and click on "Recent news" they have a link to a video showing the construction going on inside the resort. Really, really loud.

If you were there for FREE DINING, I would call that "something." I can put up with a lot of things when it's free but when we ate there OOP and listened to jackhammering the ENTIRE time I requested and received a discounted bill, those who did not request were expected to and did pay full price. For anyone reading this post, know that you do not have to pay full price if the noise occurs during your meal, but be prepared to complain to get it!!! Why should I pay the same price as someone who got a quiet meal? I did not get the same product/experience.
