Chef Mickey's Lunch--Just opened

Thanks to the wonderful DISboards we have a lunch reservation at Chef Mickey's right when we wanted it!:yay:
Haven't been there since 2005 - v.excited as is the one place DH wanted to go during his b'day trip!
They didn't seem to have any trouble making the ADR so good luck to everyone else. Will be on the lookout for lunch menus now.
:thanks:

Can someone tell me what you love about Chef Mickey's? It seems so popular but looking at photos it seems so basic to me for a TS credit. Is it really that great? Rethinking my ADRs now...:surfweb:

It's the ATMOSPHERE! It's the best! You really get that Disney feeling when you eat here.

I'm glad to hear that the atmosphere is so good. We arrive at WDW at around 10:30 am and I have booked a lunch at 2:00 at Chef Mickey. This is our first visit as a family and the first for the children so it is sure to put us in the Disney spirit.

I'm actually booked for lunch at CM's on 9/25 for my b-day. Is anyone sure that this is a character meal? (crossing my fingers and praying the answer is YES!!!)

I really wish WDW would make an option available to *choose* the number of CS & TS meals you prefer, or swap TS credits for CS. We are truly more interested in the attractions and would much rather have the option of one or two nice TS meals during our stay, and all the rest CS & snacks. It would free us up to see more at the parks. Even during free dining, I'd rather have more CS and fewer TS meals -- I'm not one of those people who wants to "get my (free) money's worth!"

I know that last year there was such a lack of ADR availability for FD that Disney not only opened lunches that aren't normally available, but they also offered people the choice to exchange a TS credit for a CS, sling bag, and I think an extra snack.

So you may be in luck at some point and get to exchange!

I have it booked @ 1:35 on Sept. 23rd!

This will be a character meal, right? :confused3

I'm sure it is but thought I'd better double check here. Thanks!

It open for online booking. I just checked but can't make my adr's till sunday! Is it for sure also characters? Anyone know?

Plus, if you're staying at the CR, you could incorperate a late lunch in with your mid-day break from the parks.

Lunch, a little nap, a little pool time then head back refreshed...

It's a good thing. :goodvibes

We went to lunch at chef mickey's last year. I think it was the free dining time, I'm not sure because we are DVC so I don't pay that much attention to it. I know it was during the "Little ones" preschoolers time that they were trying to use during off-season, so probably in Sept. It seems like it was about the same food as supper. I remember they didn't have peanut butter and jelly pizza because we spent a lot of time trying to remember if they usually have it at breakfast or supper. But then they quit having it at all.

Thanks so much to everyone for this post. We have never been to Chef Mickey's and I have tried, without success, to get a breakfast or dinner reservation for the 8 days we are at WDW. I didn't realise that Chef Mickey's was even open for lunch so thanks to this thread, we now have a lunch reservation on 20 September before we check in to Bay Lake Tower!! :thumbsup2

Sadly nothing available for us but Chef Mickeys is definitely a great time for those that are lucky enough to get in!!
