Chef Mickey's Honest Opinions

The OP did ask for honest opinions. LOL... I also don't hold back in my praise of a place as well. :goodvibes

I know, I'm just teasing you! I have to share. I talk about our little girls we brought with us last year a lot. Well their Mom WS with us and had no concept of what Disney actually was, so CM was her first introduction. We are in the process of planning our December trip and CM is her only request! LOL!!!!! Um...not this time. We are going to really make her day and take her to Minnie's Holiday and Dine if it is offered again this December!

looks like most people are saying no to Chef Mickey where would you recommend for breakfast. We are on the dining plan and we do have breakfast at Akershus schedule already. Staying at POP. Doesn't have to be breakfast. We are doing each park while there. Right now we have Akershus for breakfast. Hollywood and Vine for dinner and Garden Grill schedule ( this one is DD favorite) I am opening to ideas. Going in August if that makes a difference
I have never had a problem with Chef Mickeys but another fun breakfast is Cape May

We were there a few weeks ago for Sunday brunch. The food was better than I expected but our table was right by the buffet and only 3 characters came to our table. I saw other sections of the restaurant had much more interaction and participation with the characters during dinner (oversaw as we were waiting for monorail). In summary, food was decent - something for everyone but it is a bit hectic and our character interaction was lacking compared to other reviews.

If you havent been to Chef Mickey's yet, i'd definitely give it a try at least. Since you are staying at the resort, I think its a great idea. BTW I do love the food at the wave! Its a hidden gem!

We had never done TS meals until our most recent trip earlier this year. We stayed at the CR (and LOVED it!) at the end of January, and we did Chef Mickey's as our last TS dinner on our last day. It was so nice to be able to make the short walk from our room to the restaurant, and they have a great picture-taking spot to take a family picture while you wait for your table. My sons are 11 & 14, and we had several character meals this trip, so I think by the time we got to Chef Mickey's, my boys were sort of "charactered out". While I would not say the food was great, I wouldn't say it was horrible either. It was sort of your basic buffet food. I'm glad we went to Chef Mickey's, because the pictures we got were great. However, we have already decided we won't return to CM on our next trip, mostly because my boys are really past the age for character meals. I would say if you are staying at CR, it's really convenient. Many others here say breakfast is good, so give it a try! Your boys are the perfect ages for character meals!

We ate breakfast there two years ago with sd who was eight and ds who was ten months. I stayed with the baby and dh went to the buffet for ,e so I cannot comment on the cleanliness. The food was standard breakfast food. I ate a bunch of hashbrowns and bacon. They were both good. The reason we won't go bs I is the general chaos in the restaurant. There are too many kids running screaming and the character interaction is just ok.

I was not impressed with Chef Mickey's. The only reason we went there was that we were staying at BLT and figures get all the pictures and autographs with thet fab five our first night there so we would not have to do it in the parks. The food was fair at best but the character interaction was good. If you want to meet all five at once with out having to kill time in the parts it is worth it. Besides that I would skip it.
