We are thinking about doing Chef Mickeys after an afternoon at the MK. This may be a silly question, but how do we get to the restaurant from MK? Can we ride the monorail? I would think so, but is there a different one that goes to the hotel? Do you think it's even a good idea to plan Chef Mickeys after doing MK all afternoon. Let me know what you think......Thanks.......Jan
Oh......another thing. How do we get back to the place where we catch buses back to our resort? We are at ASMo. Thanks again.........

You can walk to the CR from the MK. Just head towards the bus pickup area, and keep walking till you get to the resort, about a 10 minute walk. You'll essentially be walking under the monorail beam most of the way over to the CR, so it's easy to see which way to go.

When you're done at Chef Mickey's, just walk back over to the MK buses. Nice, short walk.

Or, you can take the monorail. As you leave MK, follow the signs to the resort monorail. The CR is the first stop, so it'll be a very short ride. It might be more fun to take the monorail back to MK from CR, since that's a little longer ride. You'll stop at TTC, Poly, GF, and then the Magic Kingdom, where you can get your bus back to your resort.

I think you have a third option:

You can take a small boat launch. These are smaller boats near the ferry that are marked for the MK resorts. I know they have them for the Polynesian, GF and Wilderness Lodge. I believe it would be available for the Contemporary as well but it might not since you can walk.

Oh, and there is no bus from the Contemporary to the MK. At least that's what I've been told.

Walking or the monorail are the most efficient choices. You would have to take a boat from MK to WL then to the Contemporary. You could have walked from MK to CR and back in the time it would take to use the boats.

There are no boats that go from the Magic Kingdom to the Contemporary. The ones marked for the Magic Kingdom Resorts is one for the Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. The other one is for the Polynesian and Grand Floridian.

As for the question you can't go wrong either walking or taking the Resort Monorail. The only advantage to the Resort Monorail is it let's you off on the 4th floor of the Contemporary which means Chef Mickey's is a quick 10 second walk from there, because they are also located on the 4th floor.
