We've never done CM's and am considering it for our next trip. The only thing is, I've read mixed reviews and am unsure about it. Because of our schedule while we're there, it would probably have to be dinner there for us. Thoughts on the dinner at CM's? If we could work it into a breakfast, is breakfast that much better than dinner? Thank you!

If food is the primary consideration, don't go. If the character experience is what you're after, it's fine.:earsboy:

We have a 3 year old little boy who LOVES Mickey & friends. So, I know he would really enjoy that aspect of it. While the food doesn't have to be stellar, I would like to leave feeling full and that, at least, the food was good. Is the food horrid or is it on a good, decent level?

We have done Chef Mickey's numerous times. The food is good, not fantastic. It is pricey but we have always liked it because you get to see the major characters without waiting in line. We have taken our boys the for their birthdays and they really enjoy that, they received a special placemat and Mickey came over to help sing happy birthday.

This is one of those must do's if you have children. The kids love it, and get to see all the main characters without fighting the lines at the parks. Each table will have visitors, so you dont have to worry about missing one.
The food is pretty good. I dont know where a lot of people eat, but I'm no ritzy diner. The food is pretty good, and I believe anyone would enjoy it as long as your not expecting Veal.
A lot of people complain about the price, but that is more about the characters than anything else.
I've been there a couple of times and loved it each time.

Most of the food is fair, there were one or two items that were pretty good(I'm thinking the fried chicken wasn't bad). You can eat all you want. :earsboy:

Thank you all for the input. Think I will go ahead & book it for our next trip!!! :cool1:

We have had dinner there twice and we liked it. The food is good, not great, but good. The characters are great and so was our server. We never had to wait for drink refills and the dishes were cleared quickly.

I cannot comment on breakfast but I've heard good things.

I ate there on Jan 22 and the prime rib was so rare you could hear the cow mooing, it melted in my mouth. It was some of the best roast beef I've had in a great while. The salad bar was very fresh and had some great choices to add to the salad. My mom ate the salmon and said it was the best salmon she has ever had, I despise salmon so I didn't eat it.

My only complaint, and it was all over WDW not just CM...the chicken nuggets were not attractive. Not sure what kind of chicken nuggets they were but they looked gross. My kids ate them and didn't care.

I was celebrating my birthday and I was given a cup cake with a candle when they did the celebration song. It was pretty cool. The characters took their time and we had a great experience.

Go for it.

Thank you all for the replies. I feel much better about the food here for dinner and have made our reservation for dinner on our first night. Thanks again!:yay:

I agree with the others, we don't go there for the food because it really isnt anything special but we love the character interaction there.

We always eat there the day of arrival (we don't do the parks) for dinner to kick off our trip. I think the food is good. It's a buffet, lots of options. But I'm not a gourmet diner by any means. The characters are fun, you can stay as long as you like. It's a great way to see Mickey and friends without the lines. We just love it and can't wai to go back in Sept.

We tried dinner first and it was fun character wise but food wise it was worse that horrible....a few trips later I wanted to try breakfast and DH was leery about it but we went anyways and had a later reservation...it was excellent! The food was very good and the character interaction was alot of fun. Both times the restaurant was packed.

Its a buffet... like any buffet, Disney or not, you have to expect it to lack a little. We have been ok with the food there for dinner but mainly go for the characters. The food is definitely not amazing but at least to us, it isn't horrible. We enjoy it and it one of our must-do's every year. :thumbsup2

We ate there last week for the first time, and it definitely isn't about the food. It was what you would expect from a buffet - think Golden Corral or something similar. But it was decent, and the characters were great, and to us, that was really what mattered.

My family and I have had dinner there a few times and thought it was good. Personally when it comes to buffets at WDW we think Boma is the best one, however Chef Mickey's was decent and we have never got sick after eating there.
