Chef Mickey's for Dinner

After breakfast - if you have time- look at some of the gift shops at the other end of the floor which Chef Mickey's is on. There is a great 'kitchen gaget' shop. I bought Mickey Hand cabinet knobs there for a free standing cabinet in my kitchen. I should have bought more :lmao:

Can anybody tell me if they still have these (or any) cabinet knobs?
We were at Disney in January...I was looking all over for cabinet knobs & could not find any. We even ate at CM twice.

We're returning in May & I would love it if the gift shop would still have them.

Just so you know, its not the same exact characters for dinner. Donald Duck is not at the breakfast. Goofy is in the lobby at breakfast-- no Donald at all, so if you really want to see Donald, you may not want to do breakfast.

This may change often because when we were there Donald was in the lobby. What I like about this place is that you get to see the characters more than once. Mickey and Minnie came around three times and chip and dale about 5 times. And there was hardly ever anyone hanging around Donald so my girls played with him for about 15 min while going for dessert.

We love it. It's our arrival night tradition. The trip hasn't started until we are at Chef Mickey's! The kids relax more after they've seen their favorite classic characters, the napkin waving and singing is energizing, the food is plentiful, varied and good (some disagree, we've always had fresh, temperate food here), and the topper is to ride the monorail all the way around so that you can see Cindy's Castle all lit up, and to watch the fireworks from the outside observatory at the end of the gift shop area.....................

Thanks again for the invaluable info - I think we are going to try the dinner! Good point about having a huge breakfast and then having to go on the rides! Can't wait!!

Can someone tell me about the observatory is it too crowded? Hard to find? Good viewing? How can you time it right with your ADR? Thank you!

We LOVE Chef Mickeys! It is a must do! I know there are always some bad reviews about the place, and I am always so baffeled by that! :scratchin We think their food is awesome and usually leave so full we have to roll out the door!
I don't think you will be disappointed! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

We were there the week before last and LOVED it! It's a must-go-to on all of our trips down.

I guess that the previous posters who didn't like the food either hit it on an off night or I just have really bad taste in food (which is completely possible :rotfl: ) . Our family loved the food. There was something for everyone. In fact, my mouth is watering thinking about their parmesian(sp?) mashed potatoes!

Our boys are 5 and 8 and it was, and has always been, a big hit for them. We have never done the breakfast so I can't give an opinion on that. Have fun :thumbsup2

Chef Mickey's (Dinner) is one of our favorites!! It's our first character meal of our trip!! My girls love it (now ages 16, 15, 10, and 9) ... we have been going for years!!! ENJOY!!!

We scheduled CM as our first meal thinking to ease a shy little 4 year old into the characters. Holy Moly!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not ten minutes after we arrived, she was into the party, and that is the atmosphere this character meal inspires. We did not intend to start a tradition, but my family has requested CM for the "first meal" again in january. The food was good, and the service was good. It is a buffet, but we enjoyed it.
