DW and I love it for breakfast and were thinking of giving it a try for dinner. After checking the menu on allearsnet.com I'm not so sure. Has anyone been lately? What did you think? Thanks

I've been there for dinner several times, last time was 5/05 and Chef Mickey's for dinner was terrific! The mashed potatoes are incredible! Buffet food in general is not the highest quality food out there, but I've always found Chef Mickey's to be decent. I thought the dinner buffet at 1900 Park Fare was a little better, but the fun atmosphere at Chef Mickey's is great! We are going again at the end of this month for my dd's 6th birthday dinner!

Buffet food is never as good as food served in a regular cooked to order restaurant, but Chef Mickey's is pretty decent.

The kids love the atmosphere here and there is always something that pleases everyone.

The mashed potatoes are very good!

We were there in December, and everything was very good! Even my picky dad found enough to fill his plate a few times.

We had only done breakfast in the past, too, but decided to try dinner this past September. We loved it just as much as breakfast and would go back in a heartbeat.

We've been to CM for dinner twice. The first time I loved it. Thought it was so-so this last time (November 2005). DH loved it both times. Have to agree with Crazy4Disney that 1900 Park Fare has better food, but I'm still planning on going to CM when we're there over Christmas this year.

We were just there for dinner the end of January and we loved it! The mashed potatoes and prime rib were awesome!!! It was a lot of fun.

We were just there a month ago for dinner, and I have to say it was pretty darn bad. :crazy2: I will eat just about anything and I'm easy to please, but it was pretty barfola! The food was picked over, and what was there was cold and tasteless. Honestly, the best part was the dessert station, but other than that, I was really disappointed. :worried:

By the way, we did CP lunch and it was GREAT, so it wasn't really a buffet issue....maybe Mickey was just having a bad night.

We ate there for dinner twice last month....& loved both times. By DD11 & DS8 love it there. It would not be a complete Disney trip if we did not go there.

Everything on the buffet has always been hot & fresh for us.

We ate there for dinner last week and it was very good. The salad bar was fresh and well stocked. The hot items were stocked and hot all the time. The kids items were so good my husband was trying them. The dessert buffet was great with make your own sundaes and 10+ other desserts. Great way to see the characters without the 45 minutes wait at the park plus ride the monorail.

ate there 3x in December (yes, it's our favorite), and it was excellent each time. As said above, they have the BEST mashed potatoes there.

Well when DW reads about the mashed potatos she will be sold!

We had dinner there on our last visit, and were a little disappointed. The serving line wasn't kept clean, and there was food all over the place, some of it dried and very unappealing. There was also a good deal of food slopped on the floor, which we felt was not typical of a Disney restaurant. The quality of the food was not spectacular--typical buffet stuff.

That being said, we still had a great time! If one wants good food there are plenty of better options than Chef Mickeys, but for a good time with our favorite characters, you can't beat it!

We ate at Chef Mickey's for dinner last night with a 5:20 seating. We were seated promptly, but when we left there were families just slumped over on the benches as if they'd been waiting forever. I think it's hard for them to predict how long people will be there eating and in that 6:30ish time, the wait could be a while from the looks of things.

Also at 5:20 all the buffet line was fresh, clean and everything we had was delicious -- for buffet food of course -- so no complaints from us.

We ate there on February 12th at 6:30pm and the food was great!!! I LOVED the mashed potatoes and the carrots. Even the kids food was good. The desserts were awesome. I took a pic of one of the desserts:

We went to Chef Mickey's for dinner and loved it. We went about 6:20. We showed up about 5 minutes early and were seated 5 minutes late. The things that are there most of the time are the Prime Rib and Ham, Mashed Potatoes, Mac N Cheese, and Mickey Ravioli. There is usually some kind of chicken. Ours was rather plain when we went so I didn't try any. I cut my son's up for him though and it was to temperature. OOOO. That Orange terryaki sounds better than what we had. They have a salad bar. But the salads on the end change. We had a seafood salad that was delicious. It had huge scallops in it plus shrimp and other things. I think I got my $30 worth just in seafood salad. They change out the three Veggies. I must admit what they have at all ears isn't nearly as appealing as what we had. Peas. Yuck. Carrots. Yuck. We had corn and green beans. Our Broccoli was a bit more fancy than the one listed. Ours had almonds. Yummy.
The salmon listed there is exactly what we had. Delicious.
Our Pasta was different. We had seafood penne. Melt in your mouth.
The Mickey Ravioli had a rather plain sauce. The Mac N Cheese got a two thumbs up. I tried some and it was good. The Potatoes were excellent. The Tenders also got a two thumbs up from the kids. The Pizza got thumbs up too.
The place was clean, the hot food hot and the cold food cold. No complaints as far as that. The items were changed out fairly rapidly also. And it was really fun.

But bear in mind the menu changes often. I must agree the one from all ears doesn't look overly exciting at the moment.

We had ADRs for 7:30pm on a Wednesday, and we all enjoyed our meal, as well as the character experience.

The buffet area was clean and well-stocked with a good variety of foods; everybody could find something they liked there. The vegetables were crisp; not mushy. The ham and prime rib were tasty. I think the chicken was a chicken marsala dish, also very good. I loved the chicken corn chowder soup. The salad bar had a lot of choices; DH and I enjoyed the peel-and-eat shrimp.

One thing we had a difference of opinion on was the mashed potatoes. I really liked them and DH and DD (who are ordinarily huge fans of mashed potatoes) did not care for them at all.

We were not thrilled with the dessert choices, but that is really the only negative thing about the meal we had, IMO.

love CM's for breakfast, we'll never be back for dinner. everyone has different opinions and experiences, give it a try and see what you think. :)
