My family is going to Disney in June. We usually have a character breakfast at Crystal Palace, and this year I want to try somewhere different. Can anyone tell me about Chef Mickeys - food, atmosphere, etc? Also, any other breakfast recommendations would be helpful. Thanks!!!

Chef Mickeys, if fun! But, it is VERY big, along the lines of Crystal palace. So charcter interaction is small. But, the bfast is GREAT, huge selections to choose from.
Another one for different characters is 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian with Mary Poppins and friends.

I posted something similar a couple weeks ago. I was trying to decided between CM and CP for breakfast. Most who responded said CP was better for breakfast, but CM was better for dinner. I called to make my PS for CP, but then got lucky and wound up with one at CRT.

We've been to CM for dinner and thought it was pretty good. DS loved seeing the monorail go through. Really enjoyed getting up, dancing and twiriling his napkin.

Hope that helps.

We are the opposite ! Have done Chef Mickeys for breakfast but are thinking of Crystal Palace for breakfast for a change. Have done lunch at Crystal palace and dineer at Chef Mickeys and preferred Crystal palace foods. I do enjoy Chef Mickeys Breakfast though, the food selection is incredible!

We have done them all, and our favorite is Donald's Breakfastarous. It's alot smaller than CM or CP, and we found the character interaction and service to be better.

Breakfast at Chef Mickey's:
- Great way to start a WDW vacation
- Most popular character dining location in WDW
- We prefer breakfast here, than dinner (kids are not tired)
- Atmosphere is open, monorail travels above you in the main area
- The theming is based on the food and main Disney character displays/murals
- Lots of kids can equal high decibels in corelation to the number of kids despite the high ceiling plus noise from other services and shopping area fill this CR Core area (mainly in the evening)
- Every 45-60 minutes they have kids twirls their napkins over their heads to a Mickey Mouse tune
- Good food offerings (the basics +more ), but there is less food offerings than dinner

OTHER BREAKFAST OPTIONS in the vicinity of the MK:
1900 Park Fare Character Breakfast
O'Hana Character Breakfast

We went to CM in 2004 on our first trip to WDW and my kids were so happy. The breakfast was great and the interaction with the characters was great. I feel so glad that we did this breakfast. We booked it for a brunch and had it for 11:00 am. We had lots of time to eat and people were coming in way after we got there. The food is a variety and the kids have lots to choose from if there picky eaters. Booked this 3 weeks before we left because didn't know that you could book at 90 days until I learned from reading this board. We went this year for my daughter to CRT and she loved seeing Cinderella and being in the castle but she said she wants to go back to CM next time. She perferred serving herself like a BIG GIRL and not having to wait for the waiter to bring her food. Now she is 5 and I did the CRT and woke up early 90 days before for her and we actually paid more because were from Canada and she said she really didn't like it. So next time it will definetly be CM again.

Thank you everyone for all your help!! I think we will try Chef Mickey's this year for our breakfast.
