We were planning on doing Boma for breakfast on our last day, but we're already doing dinner there one night - plus it will be our last day in Disney (we'll be leaving mid-afternoon) so I'd like to do something 'fun and Disney' on our last morning, plus I'm from the UK and this is my first time to the USA so I'd quite like something more 'American' too....

How do you rate Chef Mickey's for breakfast?

We had a late breakfast there last week. It was really good. There's a nice amount of character interaction. The buffet had a great variety of offerings. We had an 11:15 reservation. THe day we went was an EMH morning at MK. We spent the morning in the park then went to breakfast.

Loved it! Not doing it this trip just so we can try a few places we didn't do 2 years ago... will be on our agenda for our 2008 trip!

We have had breakfast there twice and enjoyed it each time. Last week we had an 11:20 ADR, which was one of the last breakfast times. Because the restaurant was not that crowded we had great character interaction. They made it to our table several times. We were able to see Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, and Chip and Dale. The food is standard breakfast food and there's plenty for kids and adults to enjoy.

Have a great trip!

Chef Mickey's is very "Disney"! You get to see the main disney characters. It is a typical breakfast buffet.

We took DS 13 when he was 4 years old. He still talks about that breakfast. It is one of the few things he remembers about his DW trip. We are going in Oct. and bringing DD 8 along too. She is looking forward to getting the same pics as big brother. I think it would be a great finish to your trip. :thumbsup2

Last trip, we went to Chef Mickey's for exactly the same reason -- we didn't have time to go to a park before we needed to head to the airport, and we wanted to end our trip on a really "Disney" note. It was perfect! In fact, we are now making it our annual trip ending, and even though we are staying at AKL this time, everyone still voted to do a late breakfast at CM's before heading out of town instead of breakfast at Boma's.

It really is a great send-off to spend a few minutes with Mickey and the gang eating Mickey waffles before you head back to the real world

Have a great trip!

Thank you - you've more than convinced me to choose Chef Mickey for my trip!!

WOOHOO now I have 3 character meals to look forward to on my itinerary (CM, dinner at CP and 1900PF; we're also doing dinner at CRT on first night, but not really character meals!) I'm so excited!! I'm like a little kid! :D

I hate to be the negative voice in this, but we ate breakfast at Chef Mickey's in May and had a really bad time. We had ADRs and we waited for a table for at least 45 min. DS2 was pretty upset, we had to feed him snacks while waiting for a table. The place was so crowded that the lines to get food were really long, and kids who were going up on their own to get food were cutting in front of everyone. We didn't even attempt to get seconds of anything. Again, because it was so crowded, the character interaction was poor - there were just so many full tables for them to visit. The service (just to bring drinks to the table) was awful. We left before all of the characters got around to us. We won't do this one again! We had much better experiences at the character dinners at Crystal Palace and Garden Grill.

What time did you go? Was it in the middle of their breakfast time? I am so sorry it wasn't a pleasant experience for you. I remember when mine were 2, their patience was little to none.

Was it during the Free DDP? It could be that there were a lot of people there who were dining for free. I have read on other boards that the free dining has really increased the crowds in the restaurants.

I am glad that your little one did get to have a good character experience at CP. :)

I think our ADRs were for 9am. We were told that there were 2 seatings, one at 7am and one at 9am but that the monorail would not run from the Poly to CR at 7am. I am not sure if this is true but this is what my DH reported that the CM doing our ADRs said. It was not during the free DDP, we paid for the DDP. There were a whole lot of people waiting to be seated along with us. Many were quite agitated with the wait. I do read alot of good opinions about CM's here, but it won't be on our list for our next visit and just wanted to share our experience. :bitelip:

We ate there for breakfast last year and loved it. The restaurant was full and people were waiting to be seated. It took a little while for us to get seated also, but we passed the time by looking around the CR. We had no problem w/service and lines at the buffet. We are going again in December. Go to Chef Mickies!!

We just ate there this morning and it was very good. Our only complaint was the eggs werent really cooked too well...well, not at all in the middle. While that was disappointing there was plenty of other delicious food to eat.
