I have Chef Mickey's scheduled for Dinner right now and 'Ohana's scheduled for breakfast. Should I change our PS at Chef Mickey's for Breakfast? I have not been reading good reviews about the Dinner and those Mickey pancakes sure look fun. ::MickeyMo

We've done both breakfast and dinner and we prefer the dinner options. The mash potatoes and desserts alone usually make us cave! Enjoy!

We had dinner there, it was delicious. We are seafood lovers and they had peel n eat shrip, some sort of scallop and mussel salad, and fettucini alfredo with scallops in the sauce (WOW!) not to mention many other choices. The desserts were pretty nice looking too including a big ice cream sundae bar!

Sorry, we weren't too keen on the dinner. We are used to the Vegas-style buffets, where there are tons of things to choose from and to us, there just wasn't that much. And you couldn't even get near the carving area.

It was EXTREMELY noisy, and kids running around all over the place. I would think breakfast would be a little less chaotic due to everyone just waking up.

The desserts were just ice cream with about a dozen candy toppings, cookies, rice krispy treats, some small petitfour (sp) type cakes, 2 mousse type cakes, and a plate of brownies. Nothing like the desserts you would see on a cruise or in Vegas.

Also, the price was extreme we thought...$71 for 3 of us (1 being a 4 year old) and then they charged $26 for a picture package also. We just thought the price was ridiculous considering the choices (and it wasn't even that great tasting).

Next time we'll try breakfast. :)

We prefer the breakfast over the dinner. The quality of the food at dinner was just so-so and the place was a mess. We will not go back unless it is for the breakfast. princess: pirate: :earboy2:

We prefer breakfast over dinner at CM. Granted right now alot of that is due to DS not being as fussy at breakfast, but we liked the food selection and general atmosphere at breakfast more.

I would switch that and make Chef Mickey's ps for breakfast and do O'Hana for dinner.

We had brunch at Chef Mickeys on Easter Sunday - it was manic. The food was OK, but we didn't get to see all the characters and were not offered the picture package

Wouldn't go back - I'd rather try the restaurants in Epcot :mickeybar

Chef Mickeys for Dinner has become one of our traditions for our 1st night in Disney. The food is really really good. (the best chicken fingers I've had in a long time) I too was nervous about dinner the first time we tried it (due to bad reviews I had heard)...but it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. EVeryone talks about how loud it is and how kids run around all the time...to be honest with you..I've never really noticed. Granted we had our 2 year old with us last October and had a gREAT time..maybe we were one of the loud ones ;)..but he wasn't one of the kids running around.
Have a great trip!

Next time we go we are going to do Chef Mickeys for dinner not breakfast. I can't see paying that much for breakfast when we don't eat it. I would rather pay the money for dinner. I usually just have some fruit and a croissant...not worth $20!

We would NOT do Chef Mickey's dinner again. We went last week, and the food was not good at all. HUGE disappointment after the other good Disney restaurants we enjoyed during the week.

We love dinner at Chef Mickey's. It's a first night tradition for us, too. Yes it is loud and crazy, but that's all part of the fun and excitement of being at WDW.

I would have breakfast wherever it is they serve the Tonga Toast... I can already taste it!

We have only had dinner at CM's once - back in 2001. Every year since we have had breakfast there & really love it! We like to get there early & enjoy the fresh food & great character interaction. We enjoy the breakfast much more, but haven't tried the dinner in years. My MIL & family always does the dinner & they enjoy it. :)

Usually when you check-in at CM's they will ask if your family would like to have a picture taken. You then go to the designated area where they have a large plate as your background & a CM's logo in front. They take your photo here & then usually bring around a package during the meal to see if you would like to purchase. It's a cute idea, but we've never bought one. It's kinda pricey & we don't really want a pic in front of a plate. ;) LOL. Now, if they had Mickey or Goofy stand in the pic with us, that might be anotehr story! :rotfl:

Can someone explain what is the Chef Mickey's picture package????

When you are in line for CM's they take you directly in to get your picture taken. Then when you are seated, during the chaos (whoops, I mean during your meal), they bring you a bag that has your pictures in it....you get two 5x7's (in a paper frame that says Chef Mickey's), a keychain with picture, a magnet with picture and 2 extra wallets for $26 and change.

We enjoyed the picture and bought it since it was the first stop on our 9 day adventure. It was the first place my son actually saw a character since we had just arrived and he loved the place--plus the picture came out good of us 3---which doesn't happen often since my son tends to like to make "Goofy" faces :earseek:

We ate dinner at Chef Mickey's in April, this was our second trip there, the first was great, but this one left a lot to be desired. To start out our table wasn't even clean, there was a big smear of something on it so that grossed me out right from the start, then I went up to the buffet and there was a lot of "mixing", ie. things in serving dishes from the dish next to them, to the point where I wouldn't even eat certian things. And I am not a picky eater. I hadn't eaten all day since breakfast so I should have been hungry. Maybe it was because our PS was for late evening and therefore the restaraunt wasn't that clean. Our Crystal Palace reservation was late during the lunch serving period but there was no problem with cleanliness or mixing there. It just wasn't like the first time we had eaten there. I don't think we will eat there next time, there are tons of places we would rather try instead.
