Chef Mickeys Dinner ... Love it or Hate it???

We went to Chef Mickey's for Dinner in August, and we had a blast. The only negative thing we encountered was the wait for our table, even with adr's we waited a good 30-40 minutes. We have are adr's for June, the kids couldn't get enough of the party environment, this was one of the few meals it didn't matter if they were quiet or not.
The only time I wouldn't do this meal is if I wanted a quiet dinner, because this place isn't quiet.

We neither love it or hate it. I guess we're mostly indifferent. If the grandkids want to go, we take them, but if they don't suggest it, we don't miss not going. And on trips without the wee ones, Chef Mickey's isn't something we even consider.

I did not care for the food, but I loved the festive atmosphere and the character interaction. I always recommend to others to go because it is just so "Disney". I think it is so magical to take the monorail over to have dinner with Mickey. I would probably not go again just for the food but I would go again for the "party". :)

ditto all of this
(and in case anyone wonders why I didn't care for the food- it just seemed kinda cold and left too long on the buffet so it seemed like the items we ate were not only just lukewarm but "old & stale" tasting)

The wait was kinda long too but fortunately part of the wait (while in line) you can see things going on in the dining area and it keeps you entertained, then when you get to the seating area atleast there are lots of cushioned seats/benches so most people can sit instead of standing at that point AND your time at that point can be used up taking pictures with Donald. :)

We loved CM! We did not have to wait for our table, and the service was excellent. We all enjoyed the food, but we like buffets, so I think that makes a difference. We also thought that the character interaction was very good. I liked CM and would go again, but I would skip CP next time.

We went in June 2001 and June 2002 and loved it. Everything was great, food, servers, and characters. We went back 3 times in 2003 and 2004 and were very disappointed with the food, servers, and interaction. We had better food at the Golden Corral, and I hate Golden Corral. :sad2: We won't be going back.

We ate at Chef Mickey's for Christmas Dinner this year and loved the food and the atmosphere. The character interaction was great. It was a perfect first night on our family's very first trip to Disney!! :goodvibes

i am going 2 DW in April :cheer2:, and i was jw: when is the best time to go to Chef Mickey's? we've been there for breakfast and we loved it. any reccomendations???

much appreciated!!!
thanks a bunch. :yay:

As far as dinner there goes, hated it. I think the atmosphere is alot of fun but the food is downright disgusting. Yuck! Now breakfast, that is a different story...we love it there for breakfast.

We have been for both breakfast and dinner. I would return for breakfast but dinner... not again. The food just wasn't good. I think you get better interaction from the Toontown character meets.

We went there for the first time last year for my sons 3rd birthday. It was August ,but not too crowded at all.I didnt know what to expect and it was perfect!!!He loved the characters coming to the table. It felt so unrushed and when they sang happy birthday to him and brought muffin with candle on - the picture on his face was perfect!!1I had tears in my eyes and it exactly the greatest celebration he could of had.

Thoroughly recommend,

Lynn

My whole family loves Chef Mickey's!!! There is a lot to choose from for dinner. The mashed pot's are awesome!! I think you will enjoy it!!

We ate there for the first time on January 21st! I have to say, I was worried because of some of the reviews on here. But we loved it!! Food, characters...it all was great. I liked it so much better than Crystal Palace dinner. I love Crystal Palace for breakfast, but we all didn't like it at all for dinner.

We also LOVE it! Prime rib and parmesan mashed potatoes are enough alone to keep me coming back. Plus we have found the character interaction superior.

We were there in the beginning of this month, and we neither loved nor hated it. The food was mediocre at best (and I never considered us to be picky), but there were many choices for our dd. The character interaction was alright, especially with Dale and Goofy, who made a big fuss over my dd (we were there on her 9th b-day). We did have to wait for a while to see all of the characters.

In contrast, we had breakfast at CM in Jan. 05, and this was much better! The food was better (although there's not too much you can do to breakfast food...), as was the character interaction.
