I feel as if I should begin by admitting that DH and I are childless and thus, typically do not do "kid/family" things like character b-fasts, HDDR, and so forth. Not that these events are only for kids or families, of course!!! It's just that we tend to be late risers, and also tend to prefer evening, DTD-type "extra" events.

Anyway, I will be taking my 9 year-old niece on her first trip to WDW in March, and I have a few transportation questions.

First, we will be staying at BWV. I have arranged for PS for Chef Mickey's B-fast (at CR) at 7:50 one morning. On that morning, MK has the extra AM Magic Hour (opens at 8, so buses should be running at 7, right?). What would be the best way for us to get to CR? Is there a bus that goes directly from BW to CR for the b-fast? Should we just jump on an early bus to MK, then hoof it over to CR (or go one stop on the monorail)?

Second, we will be doing the 7:15 HDDR. I know that we can get there by taking a bus to MK, then taking the boat over to Ft. Wilderness, right? (And I presume there will be directions when we get there??) The bigger problem is that after the show, I don't know the best way to get home, since MK closes at 8 PM that night (and the show will last until about 9 or so). I'm thinking that we might take the boat to CR, then jump on the monorail to get to Epcot, then take the boat to BWV. But, is there a more direct route? Would a taxi be available for us to catch at Ft. Wilderness?

Help!!

In ignorance,
Kim

Kim,

I'm all for the "early bus to MK and then hoof it to CR" approach for Chef Mickey's. Take a little extra money with you as they will take your photo and want to sell you a whole package of photos, key chains, etc. Yes, you can buy 1 5x7 for about $13.

HDDR is outstanding. We attended the exact show and time you are going to. You have a good idea on taking the boat to FW. When you leave Pioneer Hall there will be CMs directing guests to the buses. The buses go to the parking lot, but also directly to other resorts. (I saw buses on Jan. 4 marked for ASM) Ask a CM and they 'll send you in the right direction.
