Can someone help me figure out what time to make our Chef Mickey's breakfast reservation for? I have never done the breakfast before, not sure how long it will take us to get from there to Magic Kingdom (or how??) or if we can make it by park opening. The thing is we are NOT really morning people too much but if we had to we could drag out of bed early to make an early meal, just wondering what everyone thinks. I am okay with not being there exactly for park opening but would like to get there very early on in the day to avoid wasting time. Thanks!

From Chef Mickey's in CR it is maybe a 10 minute walk directly to the park. I would avoid the monorail to avoid the morning rush (and the fact that you would have to go ALL the way around because MK is the stop right before CR) But if you do take the monorail I would allow at least 30 minutes. I think maybe 1.5 to 2 hours before park opening to be sure would be good

It won't take you long to get to the Park...maybe 10 minutes, but if you're trying to get there shortly after opening, avoid the monorail and walk. If you want to get there "very early that day" then I would suggest a ADR for around an hour before the MK opens that day. You should get to the park within that opening hour.

However, some food for thought:

We are not early risers either. Our first full day, we have a 9:20am breakfast at Chef Mickey's. I figure that it will take us an hour to go from our hotel (ASMu) to the CR, if we leave our hotel at 8:20, that means we have to get up at 7:30 or so. That's really really early for us....I couldn't do any earlier, plus it IS still a vacation! As it is, with a 9:20 breakfast, I know that our kids won't make it past 5 without a nap and some time to regroup during the day...

You may want to schedule a later breakfast, and just start your day a little later OR you may want to go to the park first and then go for breakfast a little later. :goodvibes

Thanks for the information, especially this thought, I realized yeah we'd have to get up at the bum-crack of dawn to make park opening and that is not happening with my family, I think we are getting in late the night before from the airport so why be miserable just to get extra time in the park? And then after I decided this I checked the park hours and it's open until 11 that night anyway so I'll make a 10 am/brunch reservation and we will still have a long day in the park if we want, yay!!!!
