I want to plan this for our last day -- we will have to leave about 6-7pm to start home. Should we do this for an early breakfast or try to get the 5:00 pm seating for dinner?

I think given the fact you have to leave between 6:00 and 7:00, I would go with breakfast. Even if you have a 5:00 p.m. ADR, that doesn't mean you will be seated right at 5:00. Also, if you are driving, having a big meal like that might not be too good right before you set out! If you are flying, you definitely don't want to run the risk of being late and worried you will make your flight. I love dinner at Chef Mickey's, but I think for your specific needs, breakfast might be better. Now if you can get say a 4:00 ADR that might make a big difference, not sure what the earliest seating is at Chef Mickey's. Either way, what a fun way to end you WDW trip!

We have done the breakfast a bunch of times and have loved it everytime.:cool1: We tried the dinner once and were very disappointed.:confused3 .

I strongly second what jpolak said.

We love the b-fast....so many tasty items!!! We, too, were disappointed with the dinner. It's so fun to start your day out there with the music, characters, and great food!!!

We just did a late seating (11:20) for breakfast. It was WONDERFUL. We had tons of attention from the characters. The food was yummy. The Mickey waffles were the best.

We have done both dinner and breakfast, and we liked the breakfast better.

We have done Chef Mickey's twice for a late seating (after 11 AM) which we considered an early lunch. I agree, it was great - lots of character interaction, still a lot of fresh food on the buffet, a little less crazy (I think) than some of the earlier seatings. My family is not big on food at 8 AM (a bagel or muffin is about all they eat) so it works better for us to do character breakfasts later in the day. I wouldn't want to be paying $18.99 plus tax and tip for a bagel and orange juice!

We did dinner last time and really didn't like the food. But since my kids loved the place in general, we are doing breakfast this time. I think it would be hard to ruin eggs, bacon and stuff like that;)
