HI!
The two meals I most wanted on my upcoming trip are Chef Mickey and Ohana but unfortunatly the only good times I could get are on the same day. We have CM at 1:05 and then Ohana at 5:30. We are staying at CR and it would be on our MNSSHP night. Is this too much food for one day? And is the 5:30 time cutting it close for the party? We would just go straight to MK after dinner. We are not doing many TS meals this trip so both of those on the same day I'm not sure about. I am holding on to another Ohana reservation for later in the week but that is after we switch to the Boardwalk and I'm not sure if its worth coming all the was back to MK area after we leave CR. Our plan for that half of the week was F&W. I'm hoping some other times pop up but if not what would you do? I know CM is not popular on here but my son really wants to do it and we want to take advantage of it being in our hotel. Thanks for any help, sorry for rambling!!!

I never do an ADR dinner on a party night - that party time is precious and we usually grab QS in the park whenever we're about halfway through the night. And if they're running late, you run the risk of losing even more party time.

Plus, I'm all for doing two ADRs in one day - we do it frequently - but I would never time them 4 hours apart. Unless you are used to three very heavy meals a day, you'll barely be ready for a light snack by the time the Ohana reservation opens up. For us, it would be a waste of money. When we have two ADRs in a day, we make one for breakfast and one for supper and just snack a bit in between.

I wouldn't do two all you can eat adrs in the same day. I also wouldn't plan an adr dinner for a party night. Are you aware you can usually enter the MK with a party ticket at 4 pm even though the posted time states 7pm?

I would not do this. I would keep CM, but ditch 'Ohana. You are trying to do too much food in too little time, and you are using expensive party time to have one of those expensive meals.
'Ohana can be pretty time consuming on a good day, but on a Party day when folks coming in and out of the MK all want to eat about the same time, you will probably have a wait before you are seated. 'Ohana is generally behind and I bet they will start running behind early. So figure you will be there at least until 6:30 conservatively, but more likely 7 or later. I would cancel.

No, you will not be hungry for another buffet at 5:30.

I wouldn't eat at either to be honest with you. Other than the character interaction Chef Mickey in my opinion is the worst table service restaurant in WDW with less than average service, filthy and unkept food station and food that is worse than one could imagine (my opinion and experience). Ohana is OK, it isn't great, but it is OK and is not a place I avoid, but If I was going to a hard ticket event like you are with MNSSHP I would not cut into that time by going to Ohana. As for the amount of food, I still wouldn't do CM and Ohana in the same day no matter what; even the hardest appetites that could pack it away like there is no tomorrow would have a hard time with both. If you must do Chef Mickey why not do it for breakfast (still not great food, but better than lunch/dinner); Or better yet, do Crystal Palace in the MK for breakfast or lunch instead and stay in the MK and enjoy the day and enjoy a good CS while in the park.

I think that is way too much food and not enough time inbetween. I'd probably cancel the dinner ADR so you can head to MNSSHP at 4:00 and get the most out of your party time.

Way, way too much food IMHO. Plus, you can enter MK at 4 pm on a party day with your MNSSHP ticket, so you will be wasting quite a bit of party time with the O'hana ADR.

If you really want to eat at CM (which I can't recommend), keep the 1:05 pm ADR and then consider doing a QS in MK for dinner.

Thanks everyone for the input, you guys confirmed what I though, too much food in too little time. I also forgot we can get in at 4 so that just won't work. Im going to cancel and hope another ressie opens up for Ohana. I don't expect much from CM but My son is character (especially the fab five) obsessed so I think it'll be worth it to see them all on a day we will mostly be hanging out at the resort anyways. Thanks everyone!!

We once did breakfast at CM and dinner at Ohana in the same day. Don't know if you already canceled your Ohana, but it might be something to consider.

I think you may enjoy CM> I know we like it. It gets some really bad reviews, but food and experiences are subjective, so I alwasy suggest going to see for yourself. I will say that CM is pretty much Classic DIsney as fa as WDW goes, you cannto get much more immersed than swooping in to the CR on the monorail and having a meal complete with The Mouse himself and the Gang!

I was going to suggest it. We are doing DxDDP and 2 meals a day - late breakfast and early dinner, spaced 6 hours apart or more. it should be ok.

Ohana was one of our family's favorite meals. If it's not too inconvenient, I would definitely keep it scheduled for later in the week. :)

We did this on Xmas 2007! :santa:

BUT.....the times were much further apart.

'Ohana was Xmas breakfast...about 9am
Chef Mickey's was Xmas dinner....about 6pm.

Your times are too close together IMO.
