Chef Mickey's and MVMCP....

we have a 5:30PS for Chef Mickey's on a night of MVMCP...will that give us enough time to eat and get over there?
Also can we leave our car at the CR while at Disney?

Yes, but you are allowed to enter the MK anytime after 4 pm with just your MVMCP ticket. Consier eating earlier so that you miss the "crush" that usually arrives between 6:30 & 7.

Also can we leave our car at the CR while at Disney?

No. Since you have a PS, you may be allowed to park there, but you will almost certainly get only a 3 hour parking pass. Disney actively discourages guests from parking at the monorail hotels to go to the MK. Those who stay at the Contemporary often have huge problems finding parking - it's not right for those who aren't staying there to fill up the resort lot. There have been some reports of "unauthorized"vehicles being towed, but I have not observed this myself.

Just park at the TTC and grab the resort monorail over to the Contemporary. It's kind of fun to arrive for dinner on the monorail anyway. After dinner, you can either walk to the MK or jump back on the monorail.

I stayed at CR December 2000 and was VERY frustated on MVMCP nights because I could not find a parking space for my car because of people parking there (but not staying there) and walking over to MK for the party. They'd get out of their cars with their Santa Mickey hats on and walk over. Very frustrating.

You should either eat elsewhere or take the monorail or bus to CR, IMHO.

CarolMN-I just called to make a PS at WCC before MVMCP-the CM told me we could get in to MVMCP until 7pm. Is that just the standard "line" they give? Can we really get in earlier?!

If we can get in earlier, I may change our PS at WCC to be for lunch (we're staying at the WL) and just grab a quick counter service dinner so we can get to MVMCP sooner!!

Yes, you were told the "standard line".

They really do start letting people in with just a party ticket at 4 pm. When the park closes at 6, the party guests are asked to go to Tomorrowland while the CMs get the park ready for the party. The rides in Tomorrowland will be open and at least one counter service restaurant will also be open between 6 (park close to day guests) and MVMCP start.

If you do a search on MNSSHP, you will see that this is what is happening for the Halloween parties. It is exactly what happened last year for MVMCP events as well.

We chose to go to chef M's before our party the 17th. We like to walk over and there is something exciting about walking in at 7 with the snow etc. last year we went to tomorrowland early to ride rides but it wasn't as special. Either way, the party is definitely fabulous.

that was my thinking....I didn't want to be *in* the park and have to walk back to Main St to experience the snow and all the lights, etc....

This is our first trip to WDW and going to the MVMCP with be our first time at MK (we have days planned for there on subsequent days), so we're just anxious to get there!

I ended up changing our PS at WCC to lunch so we can get over there soon after 4:30.

We can't wait!!
