I have ADR for 7:40am for breakfast at Chef Mickeys (party of 8). But I'm thinking that day is our 5th day and we may need a sleep in day..... I have tried to get the time changed but there aren't any other times available (as of yet at least....)

My question - what is the latest time you can get a breakfast ADR for Chef Mickey, and if I can't get a ressie time, what are the odds that our party of 8 could just show up and get a table??? What time should we go if we just show up? I'm thinking later is better?? 10am-ish??? Thanks

I have chef mickey ressies for June 14 at 1020am. I tried to move it earlier and the cm said there is nothing available at all during our stay. It's supposed to be the best character meal in disney. I hope so......:goodvibes

I think the latest ADR time is around 11am. I honestly think you are going to have a very hard time getting a party of 8 seated without an ADR at any time at Chef Mickey's.

I have two suggestions (because 7:40 is pretty early)

1) take the dining number with you and keep calling while you are down there. People cancel all of the time.

2) Try Tusker House instead if you are going to AK. It has a very similar feel as Chef Mickeys. They do a parade instead of the dance party but the atmosphere is similar. Tusker House typically features Mickey, Donald, Daisy and Goofy instead of Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto at Chef Mickey's.

Good luck!

Thanks - maybe I should just skip Chef Mickey's? :confused3 Here are the other places I have reserved..... maybe we'll be in character overdrive by then? But my DD(2) LOVES Mickey - just wanted to make sure we'd see "the big guy"!

Day 1 arrival - Dinner at Cinderella's castle

Day 2 - 1900 Park Fare breakfast
Sci-fi dinner

Day 3 - Crystal Palace breakfast
Tutto Italia dinner

Day 4 - Donald Safari breakfast
BOMA dinner

Day 5 - Chef Mickey breakfast
Hoop De Revue

Day 6 - Coral Reef lunch
Teppen Edo dinner

Day 7 - 50s Primetime Cafe lunch
Luau dinner

Day 8 - Akershus Princess Storybook breakfast
leave that afternoon

According to your ticker it looks like we will be there at the same time. ;) We are having a heck of a time trying to change our ressie. We booked several meals but need to make changes in order for it to fit into our schedule. I hope you have better luck than I'm having!

Mickey is at the safari breakfast so you are covered there in seeing the big guy.

You have two TS meals every day. That is a lot of time that will be spent in restaurants and getting to restaurants. It seems like a lot of time not on rides or at attractions for little kids. I know the days we had two TS meals it really cut into our touring time and we only did that two out of our eight days.

Just my two cents. :)

I would try for a late breakfast seating (with a party of 8, i would do the ADR) and if things change, cancel and head to the food court at saratoga and have a pool morning after sleeping in

i called to get ressies for chef mickeys for sept 29th at the 90 day mark and the only time available was 1020 and that was only for 2 people

Why not sleep in on Day 6? Your first ADR is lunch.

Chef Mickey's is the only character meal we did 9 months ago and my nephew is still talking about it. We're going back to try dinner this summer.

I probably will end up keeping Chef Mickeys but trying to call back for a later time exchange. Maybe I'll get lucky! ;) since I hear it's such a good experience I don't want to miss it. But then taking a slower day later that day - swim, go shop at DTD etc. I'm planning sleep in/later start days on day 6 and 7 - the ol' "run 'em ragged the first few days - slower at the end" type of plan! :thumbsup2

Thanks for all of your input!!!
