I'm needing advice on making reservations for Chef Mickeys, and hoping for input. We will be taking our parents fo the MK for only one day- the Wed. after Easter- and would like to make ressies for Chef Mickeys for around 5:30. The problem is that we're afraid of not being allowed back into the MK because of park capacity limits. (We don't want to waist alot of time waiting to get back in.)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!:D

If you are staying onsite in a WDW Resort, I believe you are guaranteed entrance to the park, if you are staying outside WDW, then depending on the crowds, I suppose they might not let you in. Its easy to take the Resorts Monorail to Chef Mickeys and then back to the park, you can also walk to the Contemporary.

We love Chef Mickeys, make sure you go there hungry! Oh, and the characters are great too!

Think abouot doing Liberty Tree Tavern inside the MK. It is a colonial style resturant with an all you can eat family style thanksgiving stlye meal. The character are great and you would not have to waste time going over to the CT. We have done both meal and think that LTT is so much better. If the parks close due to capacity, on site guest are assured to get into one park but not any park. Leaving MK, could mean you could not return if it was at capacity. Hope this helps.

I could be wrong, but I don't think you'd have too much trouble getting back into the MK after, say 6:30 when you'd be coming back to dinner.

If you are really concerned enough to change your plans, I'd second the advice of looking at Liberty Tree Tavern in the MK.

Either way, have a great meal!

Just to clarify, you are guaranteed entrance to A but not neccesarily the park of your choice.

I doubt the parks will be at capacity in the evening after Easter.

I would not recommend Chef Mickey's, there are so many other wonderful restaurants to choose from. Chef Mickey's is loud and the food isn't very good, it wouldn't be my first choice for an adult dining experience. In all honesty, the Crystal Palace right in the MK has better food and IMHO a much nicer atmosphere. 1900 Park fare at the GF has a wonderful character meal with good food and a MUCH quieter atmosphere. For an adult character dinner, that would be my choice.

I don't think you'd have a problem with the parks filling to capacity on the Wednesday after Easter. We went over NYE 2002-2003 and the only days parks closed were 12/30, AK (which was the EE park for the day) closed around 2pm since as we were leaving because it was so crowded, the CMs at the gate told us we wouldn't be able to reenter AK since it was at capacity. Then on NYE I know MK was closed to at least outside guests (we were at MGM) because we saw signs on the road saying that the lot was full and the bus driver told us that meant that no offsite guests were allowed in. He said he thought they were still allowing onsite guests in at that time (around 1pm) but that he guessed it might close altogether. It rained a lot that night so I'm not sure if it ever did close to everyone though.

As far as your restaurant choice, my fiancé and I love Chef Mickey's and try to do a meal there on every trip. It's crowded, but I prefer that since it usually means that the food is going to be fresher since it's constantly being consumed and replaced. Overall though, maybe because of the open design of the restaurant, I don't ever feel it's as loud or packed there as I do at the Crystal Palace in MK (and I love that place too, but it definitely seems overrun with people).

I have to agree with Ducklite - I would much prefer Crystal Palace for an adult character meal. I also think Liberty Tree Tavern is much more "adult" in atmosphere - unless you are looking for chaos. Also, it will be such a hassle leaving the park, etc... you are adding at least an hour or so to your meal time by doing that -unless you have your heart set on Chef Mickey's. JMO.
