We had wanted to go to Chef Mickey's during our trip, but had planned on breakfast. Recently, however, we decided to switch to dinner instead. However, when I called Disney Dining, the only time available was 9:00!!! We tried other nights, but they were either 9:00 or completely booked!

Question 1: If were do go and eat at Chef Mickey's at 9:00 and all the theme parks close at 9:00, how will be get back to POP? Will any transportation be running then?

Question 2: That is really late for us to have dinner. If we were to go at 5:00, right when they start serving dinner, would they let us in?

Question 3: Should I keep calling like every day and try to see if something opens up? Do people do that and do ADR times open up sometimes?

I didn't think we were going during a crowded time. We are going in November, the week in between Jersery Week/Veterans Day and Thanksgiving. I know I should have booked at 180 days out - my bad! :guilty:

What have you / would you guys do? :listen:
Thanks! :goodvibes

Hello
I will try to help answer some of you questions. First off there will still be transportation running. Many times buses run even after the park has closed and some parks are open late for EMH. Another thing is if it came down to it you could always take a bus to Downtown Disney and catch your resort bus from there or you could catch something at the TTC.
Next I am like 99% sure that if you showed up at five you would be turned away. Every reservation is in the computer with your name and time so they would know that you are scheduled for a later dinner.
Lastly I would definitely keep calling. People are canceling meals all the time. I wouldn't even check when you get down there. Many times things open up. One time we got a reservation at cinderella royal table when we checked in, which is almost impossible to get. Good luck and I hope I have helped.

I think the transportation runs a few hours after park closing. I too, have a 9pm ADR for December, not because I couldn't get something earlier, but because we prefer this time since the restaurant isn't as busy, and you get lots more character interaction. If you go earlier, you'll be treated as a walk in and may have to wait for a long long time. I would definetely keep calling to see if a table has become available. Yes, people do this, and you should too if you want an earlier ADR. Don't give up!

definitely call during the week that you are there. Things come open during that week a lot because people get hungry earlier, or aren't hungry at all during the time, etc. I would even say you should call up to the very day of the reservation. I think you might get something before then, though. Did you book through a travel agent? If you tell them, they'll keep trying until they find osmething.

My advice would be keep calling while you are there,if you get no luck then just turn up and see if they can squeeze you in.
In june i tried all trip to get a breakfast sitting (also called for weeks and weeks before too).In the end i decided we should just go and see if they had a last minute cancellation.Well the fully booked restaurant was more than half empty,we were seated straight away!!From now on i will always go and try-even if reservations tell me it is full.

Incidentally our trip was mid june,so it wasn't exactly a quiet time of year.
