If we have breakfast at Chef Mickey's and use the valet parking at the Contemporary, can we leave the car for the day and go to MK for 5 or 6 hours after breakfast?

They are STRICT at the gate - the security guards act like freaking secret service at the Contemporary.

We had a mishap at Beaches & Cream and a CM got us a last minute PS at Chef Mickeys the next morning. The security guard almost didn't let us in because we weren't ''on the list" and he pulled up ALL of our PSs for the next 9 days - even telling us the ones that were cancelled!
It was a little "big brother" creepy, to be honest.

Anyway - the parking tags specifically state that you CANNOT park there for longer than, maybe 3 hours? And they are a different color and have the time on them.

I think maybe people have tried to park there during the morning hours and just leave there car there all day when they go to the parks. Since the parking lot is so small, I think they want to optimize the resort parking for the registered guests.

We did valet - and it was free with our DDE card, so I highly recommend that :)

Thanks, that's what I was looking for. Back in the old days (only 6 years ago) we used to drive in the Contemporary and park as close to MK as we could and walk over. The security guards never asked a thing. It was like any other resort. If you had a pass, they let you in.

If you're not a CR guest, the guard will give you a temporary parking pass and it will say on the parking pass when the permit expires. I also want to say it's 3 hours but I can't remember for sure.

How does it work when you have the free parking pass from DVC? Is it time restricted as well? We have a PS for CM and after that were going to go to the Poly to swim for an 1 1/2 hrs or so and then come back. Can we still do that or should we drive to the POLY? (Sorry didn't mean to hijack your thread!)

We went to Chef Mickeys for breakfast last December. We stopped by the parking lot guard he made sure that we had a PS for breakfast, we then asked if we could remain parked in the lot to go to MK he instructed us that if we valet parked we could stay in the lot for as long as we wanted. Just check with the guard when you come in.

We stayed at BCV last January and we were able to park in any motel lot or theme park lot we wanted to for free as long as we were checked into BCV.

I love that dancing banana.

We has a PS for Chef Mickey's for Breakfast before the park had opened for the day. we were staying at the All-star. We asked at the front desk what we should do. They said there is a bus that early and just tell your driver and they will drop you off at the contemporary. It was great, no worrying about parking. :flower:

Yes you can valet park at the CR and it is good for all day. You can even come and go from the park (i.e. take an afternoon break) and re-park with the valet and not pay an extra valet fee (just tipping again of course).

we have a PS for dinner at 5:50 and wanted to go to MK for a few hours after....so, as long as we valet park, we should be ok???? (Is this a "policy" or is it hit and miss based on who is working at the time?) Thanks!!

If you valet at the CR the fee is $7 for the day so if you arrived at the CR about 5:30pm and valet you can then head over to the MK without worring about your car. The 3hr rule only applies to the people who self-park. That is because it is free to self-park at the CR but you would have to pay $7 to park in the MK parking lot if you are staying offsite. For onsite guests it is a matter of people actually staying at the CR who choose not to valet park not being able to find a place to park because people staying at other resorts have self parked at the CR to be very close t the MK. We always valet our car and then have dinner at CM and then either head over to the MK or hang out at the CR until it is time for the fireworks. We have never had an issue or been giving a parking pass once we tell the guard that we are going to valet. This includes our most recent trip just this past June.

You are welcome. We enjoy our dinners at CM very much and cannot wait to be there again on November 25th. Hope you have a great experiance.

Does anyone know the current price of the buffet for breakfast?

How would you get there from Pop Century?

Thanks in advance.
