We are going in June and want to do a character breakfast with Mickey but can't get a good time for when we are going...Do I just keep calling and what is the likelyhood that I will get a good time/day...Does being a DVC member mean anything when it comes to making reservations?

Thanks

Hi and welcome to DVC boards!

No, being a DVCer does not mean anything when making ADRs. Are you set on Chef Mickey's? If not, try some of the other character meals...maybe Garden Gill in Epcot. We like it here as we get WAY more character interaction than at Chef Mickey's. It is less popular so you may have a better time. Characters = Mickey, Pluto, Chip, & Dale.

Try allearsnet for a complete list of character meals...

We were able to get a same-day reservation at Garden Grill, when we were there in March. Also, if you like catfish - they have the best on property (in my opinion).

Agreed! Good catfish and easy to get reservations! :goodvibes Also, if you have little ones who may not be so interested in Epcot, it might be a great time for a character meal to help them be more excited about that park. Our kids (5, 6, and 8 now) all claim that Epcot is their favorite park! I couldn't be more proud! (It's mine, too! :rotfl: )

Mine, too!:thumbsup2

We aren't doing Epcot (Garden Grill) because she is only 13 months old but loves Mickey...How is Ohana?

We like Ohana too, but character face-time is about the same as it would be at Chef Mickey's, in my opinion. For me, the best time to do Ohana is at dinner (non-Character meal) - two words: "Meat" & "Coma".

I'd book Chef Mickey's for whenever it is available at a time as close as possible to when you would like....and then just show up and see if they won't seat you earlier (or later) than your ADR. Our experience has been that as long as you're on the list, they'll try to help you out.
Good luck,
John

Have you considered taking a really late seating and using it as lunch? If you're up at MK right at opening, you might be ready for a break by 10:30. This works especially well on an EE day if you zip to Fantasyland while crowds are still building.

have you considered an off time - like 8pm at Chef Mickey's?

the last time I looked Mickey was at Land Grille...

see from allearsnet

" Chip and Dale's Harvest Feast - Located in the Land Pavilion in the Future World section of Epcot this restaurant features lunch and dinner with Mickey, Chip and Dale, and Pluto, all attired "farmer-style". Kids' menu includes chicken tenders, mac and cheese. Lunch $20.99-A/$11.99-C; Dinner $27.99-A/$12.99-C. Reservations are recommended."

Mickey is still at Land Grille in Epcot.

O'hana also have Mickey - Polynensian

Mickey is also at Donald's Breakfastosaurus at Animal Kingdom. He is joined by Donald, Goofy & Pluto. Good luck

We are going the end of May and the best we could get for CM for dinner was at 9pm. You may want to get what you can, then keep calling for a better time (just don't forget to cancel your first ressie if you get a better one). If you are doing MK that day, you are only a monorail ride away from either CM or Ohana's.

One word of caution: Characters are much larger in person than they appear on TV. We took our DS to Crystal Palace (Pooh, Tiger, etc) when he was about the same age as your DD. Tiger came up from his blind side and it scared him bad! :scared1: It took half the trip (2 or 3 days) until he would even get close to a characher.
