Hey everyone, i just wanted to know if anyone has an experience with trying to have breakfast at Chef Mickey's without an ADR?

My GF and I are going to be there the beginning of May and were hoping to have breakfast at Chef Mickey's, but when i tried to get an ADR they were booked. I'm going to keep trying to get an ADR in the hopes that someone cancels, but if there is no luck i want to know if it is worth the trip there and trying to get in.

Has anyone tried to go when this happened? Any luck in doing so?

Thanks!

Hi,

If anyone has been able to do this in the past it does not mean you will be able to. As they say in the brokerage commercials, "past performance is no guarantee of future results!"

I would just keep calling back. Several times a day, if you can....someone may cancel. Chef Mickey's is one of the three or four hardest reservations at WDW, so the chances of you walking up and getting seated are slim (not impossible, but slim).

Bob, I completely agree with the fact that because someone has done it previously, it doesn't mean that i can actually do it. I guess i just wanted to see how frequently (if at all) it has happened so i'd be able to hold out some hope if i can't get the ADR.

And i will definitely keep trying more than once a day...i'm such a fool for not doing it last month.

Last time we went, we could't get into Chef Mickey's at all. Then I read on Allears.net that because of the great demand, they were opening up Chef Mickey's for character lunches during our week there so I was able to call right away and get that.
So I would advise you to keep calling, and ask if they may add in lunch. You never know!

Definitely worth the continued calling, but the only times they have added lunch to Chef Mickey's in the past is during peak times. It is highly unlikely that they will open Chef Mickey's for lunch in early May.

GoofEeyore, good luck and keep us posted!

Be sure to check with your concierge desk at your resort too if you haven't managed to get a ressie before you get there. I got 7.:55 ressies at Ohana's this way.

They have only been open for lunch during the free dining period, because I don't remember them opening for lunch any other times during the year.

Yeah the lunches were just for free dining for a 2 week period or so. This is probably one the top 3 hardest, if not THE hardest, res to get so the chances of a walk in are very very very slim but stranger things have happened.

I agree. You could try and just walk up and get in. I have done it in the past for dinner. But I would continue to call and even the day that you want to go since somebody might have cancelled the ADR.:)

This will be my 5th trip, 3rd since adulthood, and I've still never been able to get Chef Mickey's for B-fast. We always seem to book our vacations less than 90 days out! :headache:

We decided last minute (as in the day before) during our last trip because we had extra DDP credits to use. This was the second week of August and the parks were PACKED. They only had a 7:15am ressie available. NEVER AGAIN. We were EXHAUSTED! And, for some reason, it took forever to get a monorail from the GF that early in the morning.

So, yes, it may be possible (we didn't just show up though) BUT Chef Mickey's opens for breakfast around 7:00ish am and that's awfully early to get up to get turned away, especially if you're planning for a full day in the parks.
