I was able to get a reservation for both breakfast and dinner. So, which one do we keep?

Keep the dinner ADR.

We like being at the parks at rope drop for the shorter lines, fastpasses and we are morning people anyway. We don't like rushing through breakfast to get back to the parks. Also, we rather spend out food money on dinner.

Have fun!

We prefer breakfast. We always do the first ADR of the day which still gives us time to make rope drop at MK. Plus, I am not a fan of the food at CM but at breakfast I can always get by with fruit, cereal and Mickey waffles which are always good!

breakfast vote here. CM is about the characters and not the food. We do breakfast as our last meal each trip. I have found my favorite items and stick with them; fruit, french toast, bacon and the cheesey bacon hash browns. We have done a late DR the last couple of trips and the character interaction has been great. Plus breakfast is a bit cheaper than dinner.

Another one here who thinks the food at CM isn't great, but if you really want to eat there, go for breakfast.

We've done both but prefer dinner. For us it's a great way to end a day at MK and the character interaction is great. DD is 16 and it's still a must do every trip she loves it :goodvibes

I've read a lot of negative reviews as far as the food. I can only judge on our experiences and the food has always been very good. The buffet was clean and the food changed often.

We've done both and prefer breakfast. We try to get the last ADR. So, we can still go to MK for rope drop and get some things done there. Then, walk over to CM for a late breakfast which causes us to be too full for lunch, so our next meal isn't until dinner. I feel like we get 2 meals for the price of one like that.

You are going to get opinions for both. For us it came down to our kids.
They were / are still young enough to enjoy Chef Mickeys. We are morning ppl so booked the early Breakfast. The food is ok, nothing great but it was fine. The kids loved it and we still had plenty of time to get to the park.

I've had the same experience and totally agree with what wdwnut61 said :thumbsup2

Breakfast. It's the lesser of the 2 evils. While dinner here after a day at MK is a great "experience", that's all it is. An experience. We did not enjoy dinner at all.

I would vote for breakfast too! I thought it was pretty good, we had a lot of fun there too. I like Minnie's napkin dance, really cute.

:crazy2: Neither. Switch it to a ressie at Crystal Palace instead. Their breakfast is amazing and you will already be in MK if you go that route.

We are going to Chef Mickey's at 4:30pm before the Halloween Party! We are definitely going since we canceled breakfast there our last 2 trips (due to changing plans). It's easy enough to see these characters in the parks so I'm hoping for some fun interactions and decent food (not fine dining obviously).

When people hate the food here, what was bad about it? How do you compare the quality of food to other buffets like Crystal Palace.... where we find the carved meats, salmon, and cold salads to exceed expectations: the meats are tender and tasty, some of the cold salads are unique for a buffet, and there is plenty of variety to suit everyone's tastes.

Chef Mickeys was so bad for dinner, it wasn't simply awful it OFFENDED me. The Crystal Palace was far superior in every way with the quality, freshness, and temperature of the food. I don't care what anyone says, those garlic mashed potatoes that people rave about came from a box, they were not real potatoes. Mediocre meat in tiny slices and flavorless salads. The only positive thing I can highlight on is that the dessert station was decent but still far inferior to the CP's options.

What I find most offensive, besides the ridiculous price for sub par food is the photo option. For full price, they ask you to buy a pic outside of the place, just like all the other character meals. However, they have you pose with a freaking half sized statue with Mickey.

Btw, we were seated in Siberia on the left wing by the kitchen doors. Mickey Mouse stayed on the opposite side of the restraunt and we never got to meet him. The other characters were confused and kept repeating the same tables and bumping into one another, it was ridiculous.
