I keep reading negative reviews of Chef Mickey's. We have reservations on Thanksgiving morning but I am beginning to wonder if that is a good thing. Anyone have any good reviews on recent trips?

I'm not sure how recent you're looking for, but we had breakfast there on August 16th and it was great! Great service, great food, and great character interaction. It was a million times better food and service wise than the dinner we had there back in December. From what I understand, the food and service are usually much better at breakfast.

Its a fun restaurant! We go every trip (for breakfast... never been for dinner). The food is fine... nothing special but certainly not terrible either... and the characters are great!

We go every trip on our first day for dinner. We have never had a bad experience. I know CM gets a lot of mixed reviews. We feel the food is good, and the character interaction really gets us ready in the mood for the rest of our trip.

We were there beginning of June and though it was not the best meal I ever ate it was pretty good. There were plenty of choices and some such as the scalloped potatoes and salmon with dill sauce were our favorites.

Our report on the restaurant is here. There are a few pictures too of the food and a couple of our dining room if you are interested.

If we were not on the dining plan though I probably would not go back just because of the expense. Hope this helps some. :)

We were there in Feb, so not that recent, but dinner was good. It wasn't great, but the kids loved the mashed potatoes. We gave it a 4 out of 5. :thumbsup2

breakfast in late June and really enjoyed it. CM is our departure day meal. There some items I would like to see them add like an omelete station and cut, fresh strawberries (not in syrup). I find plenty that I enjoyto eat.

We have switched to a late breakfast ADR and the character interaction is great.

We had supper here on August 20th. Had a great time. Great character interaction- didn't feel rushed at all. Good food and fantastic service.:)

We ate there last Tues. night for dinner, and I have to say, it was probably the most improved place we ate. We go every year, and we've never really disliked it, but this year the food seemed better, our waitress was great and the characters were great too. The year before, I remember thinking how "rushed" the characters seemed, but this year it was much better.

I am so appreciative of you all responding. I feel much better about keeping this ADR. I have tried to get a CM reservation for the past 2 trips and this year got up to be online right when it opened and got the time I wanted (late breakfast on Thanksgiving so we can go to MK early and then head over). I just keep reading so many reviews about how dirty it is, feeling rushed, and not great food. I feel happy again about getting this reservation!

This will be our 59th trip in 4 more days and no way would I chance Chef Mickeys for Thanksgiving morning.. we used to have at least breakfast there and either dinner or lunch every trip for years and three years ago it was just was bad and service bad. so we gave up. :scared1: we like all the characters there but they were more worried about us getting our picture taken than service or food...:sad2: so we switched to Tusker House Donalds safari for breakfast. dinner does not have characters. is very good so far gong to try lunch this trip...O Hana's good for breakfast with Stitch and 1900 Park Fare is Princess and good in GF and Hollywood and Vine has characters and is so far good food and great service in HS :yay: another place but is no characters but are games for kids and servers a hoot is in WL is Whispering Canyons and can take the boat from MK to WL is family style or can order off menu. is a fun place:banana: another great place for Thanksgiving day is Liberty Tree Tavern is family style for dinner and is turkey /ham/beef and all the trimings but no characters but is fun and if you go around 7:30 will get out about time parade starts as it will go right by there

We go every trip as well, the buffet food isnt very good at all but the atmosphere, characters and dessets are enough for our family to keep going back.

Party of 8 on 9/13 is was great experience. Great and attentive service food was good for a buffett. Eggs and walffles were hot. Juice was good and plentiful. Tables were not on top of each other. Characters were not rushed and showed good personality with each kid/group.
Extremely picky DFIL was happy. We were out of there in an hour, but were not rushed at all.
Would definitlely do again.
BTW CM was exact polar opposite. Characters stayed at table <30 sec, we waited for 45 min for food. Waitress disappeared for 40 min. Manager carmen could have cared less. Heard my complaint, said kitchen was backed up and never showed her face again. I dont know how you get backed up when you serve the exact same food to every table and you know exactly how many people are in each party and exactly when they are supposed to arrive, when they arrive and when they are seated. Oh yeah and the tables are practically stacked vertically they are so close to each other. I got a face full of pluto butt when he tried to squeeze between my table and the next.
We also had to hunt down the waitress to get our check.

I assume you are talking about the parmesan mashed potatoes. We asked for and got the recipe a long time ago. We love making them, it gives us a little taste of disney from home.

Breakfast is better and seems morte effiiciant....at Dinner they seem to rush you around like herded cattle....Never a bad Breakfast experience there but Dinner has its flaws.....
