Two things here....

I have an ADR for 4 but we have become a party of five. Anyone have any luck adding people to your reservation at this particular restaurant?

What are some of your thoughts/experiences here? From what I have seen we are pretty excited to give something new at the Springs a try.

It's awesome. Excellent appetizers, cocktails, and desserts. I don't think you will regret it. It's one of my new favorite places.

Sorry that I cannot answer about the reservation question - my husband and I were able to walk up last July for a later lunch.

As for the restaurant itself, it became a quick favorite. I had the best meal on property here! Yes, it was a bit expensive, but the quality was present.

I had a watermelon smash type of drink that was suggested by the waiter that was delicious. We had the "Jasper Board" as an appetizer and it was definitely an instant favorite. My husband was hesitant to pay the $27 for fried chicken, but afterwards said it was some of the best fried chicken he's had. My meal, the chopped pork barbecue plate, was not something I would usually order, but I was looking for an authentic experience. It turned out to be so tender and delicious!

I plan to return to Homecoming every trip, and that's saying something because we do not always fit a visit to Disney Springs into every trip!

We like Homecomin' a lot too, and as PP mentioned it has become quite popular. So now that your party of 4 has become 5 I would definitely try to modify your reservation to accommodate a party of 5 since that will mean a larger table. If you try online for 5 and can't find anything, try for a party of 6 - the dining website is sometimes funny that way. If you reserve for 6 and show up with 5, you won't be penalized, but if you reserve for 4 and show up with 5 you may be turned away (sitting at the bar would still be an option then, assuming enough seats were open at the time). If you can't get anything online, call!!

I just ate there with my sisters last month and loved the salad I got so much I finished the whole thing. I never finish anything, especially at a restaurant! A few weeks ago dh and I decided to take the kids to wdw this July and as soon as we decided and booked, I had an ADR booked again for homecomin'. Got the time and day I wanted for the 5 of us no problem. Then last weekend my friend, who lives locally, said she and her dh and dd would love to join us. On the app there was no availability but I went thru DSS (we are staying club level) and it was no problem. Honestly I think he we had tried calling the restaurant directly we might have been fine too. So maybe try calling?

We ate there a few weeks back and it was really quite excellent. The fried chicken was just superb, moist and delicious and with a lovely crispy coating. The mac and cheese was equally superb, and the moonshine cake was worth the trip alone!

Plus, if you are of a mind, the moonshine is really quite lovely, both as a sipping drink, and as an engine degreaser.

They were very accommodating there, so I'm sure if you were to get in touch and let them know that four has become five, they will do what they can..

It is DEFINITELY worth trying..

DH and I stumbled in for lunch in January and it was delicious. I loved the atmosphere and the staff as well as the food. We always eat so healthy but that fried chicken called my name and it was worth every bite. We're returning with the kids this month and from 180 days out I have struggling to get a reservation. At first I only had a reservation for 4 and we're 5 but the time was perfect. After weeks and weeks I got a reservation for 5 but I hate the time. Now weeks and weeks later I've been trying to change the time and nothing. Still hoping and waiting, I wonder if I call the restaurant?

Yes to all of this, and I'd just add....if you don't have luck calling Disney Dining, call the restaurant directly! This almost always works with the DS restaurants, as they are not owned by Disney and appear to limit what they release to Disney Dining reservations. I'd recommend using Open Table instead, but Homecomin' is one of (if not the) only DS restaurant that doesn't use them!

Wow, sounds like a really yummy place to go! I'm so happy we have already made our reservations...just two of us. I was a little worried about the food choices but it looks like the Fried Chicken will be calling to me too! lol Thanks to everyone for their reviews! it doesn't seem like it should be too much trouble to add another person but you may run into trouble because you need a bigger table as was mentioned on another post...I HATE being stuck at the end of a table! always seems to be right in a walk way from the kitchen! hope you get your plus one and HAVE FUN!

You can also order off the full menu sitting outside. However, in the summer during the day, it might be hot and sunny. At night or when the weather is nice, the outside is downright beautiful.

Is this one of the restaurants where if you might have a shot at an ADR if you call restaurant directly? In the past at Disney Springs, the Disney site says it is unavailable but then I call the restaurant and there's openings.

I called and unfortunately they do not take reservations, they tell you that you need to call Disney Dining!! I can't believe that I still can't change my reservation that is WAY to early, but I guess its better then nothing. I have been trying from 180 days out and up until today which leaves me about 2 weeks before we leave.

Good news! We got Homecomin' and Ohana. Missed a few other ADRs, but with reservation finder on touringplans.com, I'm confident we'll snag them eventually!

These are two of our ADR's for our June trip too....really excited as these are both new for us.

Just an update. We went to Homecomin' last week, and got a walk up for dinner at 6pm on a Sunday night. I tried to make a reservation at the podium earlier in the day, but they would only take walk-ups on the same day. The food and service were great as always. Suggestion: Get the Macaroni & Cheese. If you get the fried chicken, I would recommend asking for M&C instead of the mashed potatoes. Trust me, it's worth it!

Has anyone had the catfish? I love catfish and a lot of places give such tiny filets and usually overcook them. DH and I have an ADR in Nov on our arrival day for dinner. We always go to Disney Springs once on our trips, and since I couldn't get Ohana before 9 pm, I grabbed a Homecoming ADR after reading such good reviews.

If you can't get the reservation you want for some reason, you can sit at a table in the bar and order off the main dining room menu. If that helps.

tell me about this.... we do this at home at a fave restaurant with our 4 year old...but it has actual seat yourself tables....is this the same?

long wait around 5pm on a friday?

I LOVE Homecoming!

This has quickly become one of my DS favorites. I've had the Fried Chicken and Donuts and Shrimp and Grits, both of which are to die for. Their Watermelon Mash moonshine is a must-try for any visit (and worthy of a visit in and of itself in my opinion!) If you have a sweet tooth or are a fan of desserts, the Hummingbird Cake is delicious!

Reservations are definitely recommended as they always seem to be booked solid. We waited an hour plus when we walked up for our first dinner there, but we booked a reservation over a week in advance for the second trip.
