We went one year during cheer and it was mayhem, swarms of loud teens everywhere. Yes, I get they are young but the chaperones never told them to zip their mouths, they seemed to think everyone loves to hear cheerleaders shout out loud, this is not true. After that experience I always looked it up and booked around the competitions. Closing my eyes I can still hear the echos walking through Soarin' where I pulled the CM aside and begged them to either squeeze us into a non cheer ride rotation or let the squad go in front of us, anything to make it stop they kindly obliged.
I've been during cheer competitions and haven't really had that experience. I'd see them at the resort practicing or whatever - if you are at the All-Stars or Pop, expect this. In the parks though, I never noticed much. There might be the ocassional shouting cheer, but nothing too obtrusive. I did see a group once try to do a lift in front of the castle for a photo - a CM shut it down real fast! I am sure one's mielage can vary and if you are in the wrong place at the wrong time you may encounter an incosiderate group. If that happens a few times, you might think that all the groups are like that - they are not though.

I was in the parks this past weekend and didn't notice bad behavior. The weekend before was terrible with large groups being very rude. So YMMV based on where you are and when.
I remember taking my Mom to Disney several years ago, as she was elderly we always came back to the resort in the early evening, had a quick dinner at the food court (Port Orleans Riverside) and went to our room so she could watch Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. We had a courtside view and every evening the cheerleaders would practice. It usually went on for a couple hours and got annoying pretty quickly. Never really noticed anything annoying or obnoxious in the parks though.
They ought to move these cheerleading events outside of Disney and much much closer to home. If they can’t handle themselves in Disney, they don’t deserve to go.
