Ugh! I am SO not a fan of showers. So many reasons. From the food (dry chicken and ziti, no thanks), to the baby games, um no thank you, to the endless gift opening. I do everything I can to be busy when these things come up.

It took years for people to stop asking when we were having kids. I was married at 18, many relatives were counting months wonder how many until the stopped We are celebrating our 25th anniversary this year. Happily childfree. We love our life and would not change a thing.

For the longest time I used to get upset when I got the "you have NO kids?????" questions until I started answering with "yeah, I had 4 and gave them away as Christmas presents!"


We have 2 dogs and a cat who are treated like children. My little dog is a long haired Mini Dachshund that just happens to love being dressed so i get my fix as far as that goes.

This is Rio, my gentle giant.

This is Magnolia Mae (or Maggie Moo) she's a greyhound/pitbull mix.

And this is my baby Dolcimia (which means "My sweet" in Italian)

A side story to Dolci....we live in Maine but are flying out of Syracuse NY because Dolci will be spending the week at her "grandparents" house instead of staying in a kennel. How's that for spoiled? One of the reasons is becuse she is prone to seizures and I can't bare the thought of her having one in a strange environment (she doesn't have them that often but being in a new place like that could bring them on) My parents are so excited that they are already stocking up on toys and telling their cats how "the Baby" is coming to stay! And we don't leave until September! When I was booking the trip the lady on the phone said "wait, why are you flying out of a NY airport when you live in Maine?" and I had to tell her the whole story. She said "that sounds like one pampered little dog! You must not have kids!"

I once had the 3 cats with me on the couch (the little one on the back of the couch with paws on my head, the old man leaning on my leg and little girl curled up on my chest) and I asked DH, why do people have children when they could have cats?


That is me...I really love them like children.

I know...I am a little nuts but this IS MY FAMILY and I hate when people say that Furbabies are not family, they are animals...Well, I know that is not true. We are a family, we feel like a family and our love makes us a family...I like most cats better than most humans I meet...

We've spent about $2000 trying to help our adopted bulldog comfortable (severe environmental allergies) since we got him in Nov. Thurs. he's seeing a dermatologist. Good thing we don't have human kids...we'd have no time or money for them! One of our kitties has chronic renal failure and we have to give her subQ fluids at home...it's like a mini-vet clinic at our house!

Hi everyone- I do know some of you!

I am CF and never had the urge! Neither has DH and we have been together for 27 years!

DH and I cannot have pets We both have really bad asthma and allergies- we got 2 kitties when mom lived with us, they were our "community kitties" equal share. When she moved out- our allergies were so bad- she took them with her. There would have been no other way anyway- they are her price and princess.

She is now back with us- in her own in-law suite and the kitties are back! Our allergies are fine b/c she has a totally separate living area- we even gave her her own heating and air unit- just to be sure no kitty hair invaded our house. I go and see them all the time.

This is Katzenjammer aka Jammer aka baby Boy, he is 12 He is so fat, he reminds me of a baby Harp seal You can see all of his chubbiness under the blanket- but I just took this yesterday morning- I kept taking his pic and this one was funny b/c you can See how pissed he is at me, like, leave me alone! This is not the best quality pic b/c I turned off the flash it was annoying him

And this is Patches- real original. I call her Squirrel, she is 13 I have been calling her Squirrel since she was a kitten- I forget why!

Well, my DH's screen name is StarWarsMan...He is a huge fan and I know way too many weird names of characters because of him. It was fitting that this is his cat. It's the ONLY correct way to spell it...
