cheep plane tickets

hey just wondering who you use to find the cheapest plane fare? Im looking at a last minute weekend trip to nashville in oct. I wonder if I should wait till the last minute or book now? I cannot find anything cheeper than $250..TIA!!!

You could probably make that drive in a day... If you've got that much time on your hands. From Orlando to Blairsville, GA is 10hr drive, and I think we go through about 3 tanks of gas to get there and back. And that's way cheaper than buying a plane ticket, especially for two people.

Have you looked at flying out of different airports?? If you're in the Miami side, look at MIA, FLL, and WPB. When my mom went to Texas it was way cheaper to fly out of FLL, but twice as much to fly back, so I saved 20$ by flying her to WPB.

we are 2.5 hours south of orlando and only have 3 days. fly in on saturday and come home on monday. Im looking between PBI and Ft Lauderdale. so far its between delta and southwest and both are showing PBI being cheaper which is odd because normally Ft Lauderdale is cheaper.. Im hoping something comes out by the end of the month that we can snag for our short trip. thanks!

Hi!

My dh has to make a quick trip to San Francisco from Philadelphia next weekend and he just got it the the last minute weekend package deals through travelocity w/ compact rental car from Hertz for less that half the price for just the ticket on United was for the same Nonstop flights (a savings of over $500!!)

funny enough someone posted discount code for airtran which I've never flown before but after the code $25 off each leg if purchased as one way tickets my airfare came out to 290 rt including taxes and fees from Boston for 2 adults and I was able to pick from alot of time slots so it may be worth looking into depending where your coming from.

aitran doesnt fly into nashville from south fla so its looking like delta/southwest.. delta is cheaper so far..

Have you tried checking with Bing or Kayak? They have helped me with finding the lowest fares for all our trips.

My husband just flew (2 weeks ago) from Savannah Ga to Detroit (going to Toledo OH) for 323.00 from US Air. I know that Airtran had some good deals going but I dont know if they are still selling or not. Neither one of us had flown for quite a while and I was shocked to see that he had to pay 20.00 to check 1 bag so total the ticket was 343.00

Oh and the "name your own price" from priceline...didn't work for us, it only gave us the lowest airfare that the actual airlines were giving

Definitely try Kayak. You can check the 'nearby airports' box to see additional possibilities as well as 'flexible dates' and see the dates on a matrix grid. I've found that the best way to locate the best deals and then click through to the airline from there. (No fees for Kayak and you don't buy from them, you buy direct from the airline.)

Are you sure you weren't in the regular Priceline? For the 'name your own price' YOU give them a bid and they say yes or no. The way you posted makes me think you were in the actual bid area.

Yeah I was at the name your own (which I was surprised that I didn't get a winner b/c I had in the past) they would show me what they could offer me instead of the price I was asking and it would be the same as what the airlines were offering. Thats okay he got a pretty ok deal I guess from the airline..Now priceline for hotels I almost always get at the name your own price that I ask for
