GD is it a disney trip or some other vacation? Oh wait, is this the surprise birthday trip?

Wendy I'm glad to hear you had a good time. I totally agree on the sand part. Just where does it all keep appearing from? You'll start finding it at home too.

One week from tomorrow and I'll be heading to Florida for some fun and sand. I hope the weather is nice while we are there.

Good morning!

Looks like quite a few of us will be on vacation in the next week or two. I leave on my cruise Sunday and am getting really excited. I think I'm more excited about a week away than the destination. I'd better pay attention though because I have to write a report for work. Since my work paid a small portion of the trip ($200) they are entitled to a write up. Not sure if it is to prove that I went or to actually benefit the other agents.

This morning I went over to my parents house to steal food for my lunch. . . I mean borrow. . . I don't steal. My mother was still home which is unusual and she was sewing on her sewing machine. Here was the conversation:

Me: What are you sewing?
Mom: Beanbags.
Me: Oh. Ok. What are you putting in them?
Mom: Beans.

Was that not the stupidest question I could have asked? What was I thinking? My mom just shook her head and told me to drive carefully. I suppose if I can't figure out what goes into a beanbag, it might not be a good idea to drive a car.

Can I write your trip report for you? I'd promise to make it "entertaining"... I have a little Word document I use as an outline during my trips - I add stuff to it during downtimes (like waiting in line) while it's fresh in my mind, then when I get home I write it all up. I could ghost-write yours for you using the same method...

Also, I love your beanbag conversation with your mom.

GW - Yep, it's his surprise birthday trip. I almost screwed up, he overheard me tell someone we're going to Florida next week. But then I was able to slip in a mention of an air show in Ocala . He hasn't guessed it yet, so hopefully we won't slip up. I'll be in Indiana solo over the weekend, so I won't be able to screw up after Friday morning (I leave Friday afternoon right after work). I'm the "loose lips" of the family, so if we can make it til Friday without slipping we'll be good.

But I'd change names to protect the "innocent". I doubt they'd figure it out anyway. Reading my prose is like reading Benedikt (my favorite obtuse architectural theorist) or Proust. Except I mention bodily functions WAY more than those guys.

Congrats on the Aerosmith. I just found out that we'll be in WDW when Weird Al is here in concert (8/3). Boo hoo. But at least I now know he still tours in this part of the country.

Sorry you'll miss Weird Al. I am a huge fan. He went to school at the local university and is a bit of a local hero. He plays at the school every couple of years but I've never been. Maybe next time.

Well, the concert was fabulous! I don't know how he does it but Steven Tyler is just incredible on stage. His voice, his energy and that mouth! I know he's not a good looking man but he sure the heck is sexy on stage. Joe Perry is amazing on the guitar. He makes it look so easy.

I'm babysitting two of my nieces and one nephew this morning. I'm waiting for their arrival. It should make for an interesting morning.

Any big plans for the weekend? We are expecting rain for the next two days. The weather people said you should move any outdoor plans indoors because it should be a total washout. Fun.

Morning! We had a lot of rain last night, and it looks like it may stick around today. We really need it though. If it rains here, that means all three of mine will be in the house running around like wild animals . I have to work this weekend so they'll be with grandma some.

I may have to take them to see Transformers. One of my friends went and said it's an awesome movie.

Good Morning! I've been going through withdrawl because our internet was down here at work. It did give me time to clean out my desk some which is a good thing as I'll be gone all next week. I leave in two days! I haven't even begun to pack. This is so not like me. At least I have all day tomorrow.

Yes, I'll be on an Alaskan cruise. I hope I survive rooming with my aunt for a week. She calls every day asking what I'm going to wear. I think the next time she calls I'm just going to tell her I decided not to bring any clothes and just spend it naked on the balcony.

I saw Hairspray last night. It was fabulous. John Travolta was great. It was definitely a feel good movie. I haven't seen one of those is quite a while. If anyone is interested in seeing it go for it.
