I know there is a recipe thread, but I was curious if anyone has both tried the recipe and tasted the REAL thing and found them to be the same? There are also at least four different recipes floating around, so I'm curious if there is a tried and true one. Thanks so much!!! popcorn::

That was my plan too! So someone better hurry up and give us some advice or we'll both be ordering pizza

I just made this a couple weeks ago for a party. I used the recipe from the Delicious Disney cookbook, and it was sooo good. Definitely worth the time it took to make it.:thumbsup2

If you're talking about the Canadian Cheddar cheese soup I found a recipe one time and we made it.I would say the recipe was right on except that it called for adding more carrots than it should of,in fact whenever I have it in WDW I never even really taste carrots, but we followed the recipe and it was good but we'll leave out the carrots next time.

I used the recipe on the recipe thread on here last night (minus the celery as cant eat it) and it tasted perfect! Seriously that is the soup all right!

I've made the soup three times now, the last time being just last week. I remember the soup being much smoother at LeCellier, you couldn't really tell there were carrots and celery in it, whereas mine you could actually tell. Other than that it tasted very similar and is very easy to make. I do have a hard time finding Moosehead Bear so I just use whatever is available, I used Molson this time and it turned out pretty good.

I make it and it turns out great...I go to a specialty store for real aged Canadian Cheddar and Moosehead beer...so it takes a little extra effort and money - the cheese is almost $10 a pound! - but it's a wonderful taste of Disney.

I also found the first time I made it it wasn't as smooth as LeCellier's, so now I use a hand held immersion blender to blend out the chunks.

YUM!
